🇾🇪 Yemen's ragtag Houthis has released footage showing the moment its air defenses shot down a American made Saudi Arabian F-15 fighter jet over Marib.

Yemeni Armed Forces spokesman Yahya Saree says the aircraft was conducting combat operations in support of Saudi-backed forces when it was struck by a locally manufactured surface-to-air missile.

Ansarallah says Saudi F-15s and Typhoons subsequently entered the area searching for the wreckage but were forced to withdraw after being engaged by Yemeni air defenses.

The fate of the pilot remains unknown.

Saudi (Gulf States) will have to reexamine if they really need usa base in their country

America can't save them yet, the bases have become firewood with infested ants that keep attracting Iran bombing

Either way the middle east will never go to the previous order after this war

Trump can't open strait nor guarantee peace in middle east except by Iran agreement

The Houthis have created their own SAM. This changes everything. This shows that they aren't just a rag tag group but are an organisation with some serious capabilities. They have developed their own ballistic missiles as well and have occasionally targeted Israel with it.

What does this mean? This means that Saudi Arabia cannot bomb the Houthis recklessly anymore without expecting a Houthi response. Developing and fielding an active surface to air missile is a level of complexity that few nations have been able to achieve and yet the Houthis have done it. It is only a matter of time before the develop ballistic missiles with precise targeting abilities.

The Saudis don't have F-35 fighter jets so only Israel and the US can take on the Houthis presently and Israel really doesn't want that smoke now and the US secretly sent officials to meet with Houthi leadership last night. So the US too isn't that keen on attacking the Houthis. Besides the last time the US bombed them, it did little to change the situation until the US got bored and left.
