To even think the large majority of Palestinian muslims are Sunni, just like Saudi Arabia but of course Bin Salman prefers to be US and Israel's hoe and let Gaza burn.

On Iran's nuclear program, I doubt Saudi can do much on the mediation side given they've been long standing strategic, political and geopolitical rivals with Iran, they're also divided across the Shia-Sunni lines too. Logically Saudi Arabia should have good relationship with Iran but this is realpolitik where sometimes, geopolitics defies logic.

The Houthis have created their own SAM. This changes everything. This shows that they aren't just a rag tag group but are an organisation with some serious capabilities. They have developed their own ballistic missiles as well and have occasionally targeted Israel with it.

What does this mean? This means that Saudi Arabia cannot bomb the Houthis recklessly anymore without expecting a Houthi response. Developing and fielding an active surface to air missile is a level of complexity that few nations have been able to achieve and yet the Houthis have done it. It is only a matter of time before the develop ballistic missiles with precise targeting abilities.

The Saudis don't have F-35 fighter jets so only Israel and the US can take on the Houthis presently and Israel really doesn't want that smoke now and the US secretly sent officials to meet with Houthi leadership last night. So the US too isn't that keen on attacking the Houthis. Besides the last time the US bombed them, it did little to change the situation until the US got bored and left.
