[An elderly ambulance driver has reportedly died while transporting a patient to a hospital in Lagos State.

According to a post shared by X blogger, Star Potter, the driver was behind the wheel of an ambulance when he reportedly stopped breathing while caught in traffic around Ikoyi, Lagos.

A video shared alongside the report showed the ambulance parked on the road, while people at the scene appeared concerned about the driver’s condition.

A person at the scene was also heard appealing to members of the public who could identify the hospital or ambulance service involved to help reach the appropriate authorities and medical personnel.

The incident has sparked concerns about the challenges faced by emergency responders and the difficulties of transporting patients through heavy traffic in Lagos.

However, details surrounding the incident remain unclear, as the identity of the driver, the hospital involved and the exact circumstances that led to his reported death have not been independently confirmed.

The video was accompanied by a caption that read: “If you know this hospital Swift Med, you can help reach out. The driver parked waiting for traffic, that's how he stopped breathing, this happened just now and he's still there.”

You see this life eh. Nothing dey... Person go hustle, hustle and just go like nothing.

Everyone will die one day, but please please invest in medical checkup. Even if you may not be able to buy the prescribed drug, but atleast you'll adjust your lifestyle to the knowledge of your health reality.

Things are really happening!

Imagine the patient was in critical condition, and the ambulance driver had to beat the traffic to get to the hospital as quickly as possible. Now, the driver has died while stuck in traffic.
How would the patient survive? Someone who urgently needed medical attention, and the person responsible for getting them to the hospital has lost his life too.
This is truly heartbreaking.

This is very sad. People should learn to respond promptly instead of focusing on pics and videos. A quick search for the hospital online would have made it easy for them to call the hospital. They could also have reported the incidence to the nearest police station. Or call LASG emergency number.112 or 767.

[color=#006600][/color] l was at the scene when it happened along Alfred Rewani Rd,ikoyi at NNPC filling station junction. What struck me when l saw the dead man...is this man not too old to be doing this job? The stress was written all over his dead face.
