The crowd shocked me yesterday though it was a defection of one of Adelabu's strongest men to APM.

Adelabu is subtly working against the APC in the state.....safe to say, Governorship is APM. Makinde was saying it yesterday that it's APM top to bottom.

He is doing exactly what Kwankwaso did in 2023, he is not for the Presidency, he wants to retain Oyo.
I really agreed with your last paragraph.
Seyi Makinde wants to form a cult followers and keep oyo state for himself.

He wants to be the godfather and kingmaker in oyo state like tinubu is to Lagos and rabiu kwankwaso is to Kano state.

Wike also tried it in River state but he couldn't sustain it.

In the near future, every state will be the stronghold of a particular governor and the president may be forced to play along with the governors.

Except local government autonomy is fully implemented as soon as possible to weaken power at the state level.

Obi himself knows it won't be free and fair.
Even you know it won't be free and fair.

In the recent by-election in Udu....look at this result..what do you see? The total is 17 oooo but look at this and INEC nodded their head and counted, this one is even small! Imagine what a Wike or Yahaya Bello will do/
People refused to come out and this happened, head or tail, It's Tinubu's to lose or there will be a forced supplementary.
Whenever u guyz show bye election results.it exposes you guys of ignorance of Nigerian politicking..

Naija politics is a band wagon effect politics...if governor is APGA, almost all elections in that region will b won by APGA, same with PDP Apac and all..

The politicians follow the center only and the contestant at the center uses authority and wealth and support for center to rig himself to position...

Hope u know APM is an empty party? Wait if they won presidential election...within 6 months they will have majority senate house of rep and b winning parallel at all the local govt level elections in states where they have governor ...infact suddenly they will have 20 governors with 1 year...

In Nigeria, we don't vote ideology, we follow politicians who can influence us

So dnt judge presidential election by bye elections

Forget about crowd in any rally when it comes to politics. Half of them don't have PVC. Most are they to just watch . Even his opponents are part of that crowd.

The real politics is.played somewhere so dark

Hope they won't kidnap the whole of UI this time around. [quote author=Penguin2 post=140710350]I must confess that I’m surprised because I thought Seyi Makinde was just another presidential candidate for the sake of it but his recent activities show someone serious about the contest.

Bear in mind that Oyo State is supposed be part of Tinubu’s stronghold and one of Southwest’s largest voting bloc just after Lagos.

Now, if Lagos is shaky for Tinubu, and Makinde seems to have taken Oyo, Osun people are threatening not to go where Adeleke is pointing, then where is Tinubu’s stronghold?

He will win Oyo state as a whole; Makinde is far better than Tinubu. Everyone know his root, his profession, his source of wealth and nothing is hidden about him and he has never been a political godfather imposing his candidate on others for decades

As expected he will do well in his home state, but his vote can't get beyond Oyo.
He's more of a spoiler than a serious contender.
Do well keh??

The maximum votes he can pull is just 100k in the next presidential election.

You have missed the argument totally.
The meat of the matter is that election will not be free and fair, it will be only be reduced if numbers pour out.

Obi knows that, Atiku also knows that. That's the case.

Again, the bye-election results was to show you inflated numbers.
From the numbers - people refused to come out; the total was supposed to be 17 (15 for APC and 2 for PDP), however, it jumped to 400+.

That's the point!

In Oyo as of today, seyi is the most popular outgoing Govornor in the history of Oyo state. Nobody comes closer. If you take care of your people, the people will return you back the favour and that is what is happening in oyo

By this time 2018/19. Ajimobi could not even campaign with Adelabu. Man was banned from following him on campaign.

Did you watch Wike yesterday? He was addressing Seyi and calling him "my brother" unlike how he used to address him when they newly fell out.

Like I always say, Except if things get better, Tinubu cannot win the 2027 elections. Infact it is tending seriously towards a runoff.

The era of thinking it is only politicians that will bring you to power is gone. It is the people who do

Make he split tinubu's vote in the SW will sweet me baje.remember with tinubu's popularity in 2023,he won his region by 55 percent of the votes, now that even his supporters are not happy with him,how much do you think he can win now? With even a Seyi on the ballot?

Very true. Makinde knows he can't get substantial votes in any other states other than Oyo state, but he wants to massively reduce APC votes in Oyo.

No matter how anyone denies this, votes in the three largest Southwestern states of Lagos, Oyo and Osun will be divided. The Northcentral votes will also be divided. If Tinubu fails to flip the Southsouth convincingly, he will lose the election.
I think that's why he is desperate about getting large chunks of votes from south east.

They have Split the SouthWest and pulled the rug under Tinubu's feet at his so called "stronghold"....(Fear Peter Obi!!)

They have taken a large chunk of Tinubu's previous Voters(of 2023) in the NorthWest & NorthEast...

Yet they Consolidate on their Strongholds in the SouthSouth,SouthEast and NorthCentral.

SS will decide Tinubu's fate.
He did politically well by making sure he tried to woo them to his side almost immediately after he took office.
That is where the 'oil' money comes from so it will be invested into the Tinubu project with 2031 in sight. It's a region where money and might dictate the pace politically! If we have the gift of life till then, the VP will come from there in 2031 and most likely one of this set of Governors.

So, he has made it clear that show your working in 2027 or don't even come close to me for that. What you see all of them doing is scrambling for 2031. It's like a race, like a challenge, who will get the highest vote for Tinubu in the states.....same for the Northern Governors too. There is this covetous appetite he has built in them that the only thing they see is power in 2031.

Only God knows what he tells them. "All is fair" in politics, they say!
North central already decided the elections

I am Ibadan boy resides in Abuja. I can tell you how much my people love Fuji, most especially when it comes to Osupa, Pasuma, Currency and other Fuji stars. We can go to any length to see their performance.

P.S: Makinde is really serious about his opposition to Tinubu because he realises and rightly so, that all Yoruba leaders cannot be seen to support Tinubu. Tinubu never supported Obasanjo all through his 8 years and that is the reason why he eventually became president shortly after. All the PDP-supporting Yoruba politicians fizzled out of relevance at the end of Obasanjo's tenure.
The Presidency isn't the main reason Makinde is contesting, it's to Impose a successor that won't probe his administration
He has lots to answer and he knows that an APC government in Oyo state will probe him
