what are you on about with the classism? Lebara has one of the best coverage in the UK. Unlimited calls and SMS within the UK, 100 free minute to about 40 plus countries outside the UK and 20GB data all for £10. What more do you want Mr?

How will they even be able to compete if they aren't better off in terms of data and calls.

I few years, it will be sold like 9 mobile that has been sold up to 4 times.
No difference between that 9mobile and ashawo for bariga.

Bro, 3's £23 a month for unlimited data trumps whatever Lebara thinks it's doing!

As it is, even '3' would make better money in Nigeria than that Indian yeye network wey overpromises but under-delivers all the time.

'Free international minutes', it says but when you check am, It never really connects to Naija grin

Lebara is actually a Mobile Virtual Network Operator. (MVNO) in those countries, as is the case ihere..

It piggybacks on the Airtel network in Nigeria, so its service is only ever going to be as good as the underlying infrastructure (masts, antennas, spectrum and base stations) can support.
Succinctly put.

I'm hoping the big shot telecoms infrastructure coys get them onboard as operators on their base stations.

Indeed it will be interesting times ahead.

While reading the post, I went on my iPhone and activated the esim, it's working perfectly fine just 1k plus my NIN..

No physical verification required, but they go ask you to open mouth as Opay used to ask if you are sending big money

It’s not the first. Vitel is the first
iLoveYouToo:
I enrolled o. It has been awesome so far. Seamless online onboarding, the first in Nigeria’s mobile telecom industry

Verdict: they need to do better than the seamless onboarding and provide cheaper calls and data plans. Those are our major pain points . The rest is window dressing

Lebara Nigeria
What network does it use?
This is an important point if you're considering buying the SIM. Lebara does not have its own nationwide radio network like MTN or Airtel. Current reporting identifies it as an MVNO operating on existing network infrastructure, with Airtel reported as its host network.
Techsoma Africa +1
So, Lebara's network performance in a particular location will depend heavily on the underlying host network's coverage and capacity there.
Lebara says its service is available nationwide.
Lebara Nigeria
A few useful things to know
Its Nigerian number series is 0724.
Tech Regard
You currently cannot port your existing MTN/Airtel/Glo/9mobile number to Lebara; Lebara says number portability will be introduced in a future phase.
Lebara Nigeria
You can check your balance using *310#.

Putting the county's purchasing power into consideration.......cheaper services will attract more customers before the consideration of quality services.... common sense should tell anyone that.
Cheap services with the high cost of production which will increase after 2027 elections after minimum wage has been increased, money supply increased, taxes increased, electricity subsidy gone?
Why do Nigerians like imaginations over reality?

I totally understand that but it is also an advantage to them because they pay less maintenance fee on infrastructures compare to the actual owners. Network wise..they can only have as wide a coverage as their network backbone carrier but Try making a 5mins call to Nigeria from the UK using Lebara and try same with 02, 3 ,Vodafone or other major network. Then compare the cost. You will understand what I mean

Nigeria is one of the cheapest in price of dara a d audtine in the world, yet see complain and people still want to boycott present telecoms. This tells you one thing, even if petrol is sold for 10naira now. Nigerians go still complain and compare their country to another selling at 9.8 naira

Saroni:
Saw a few people talking about Lebara launching in Nigeria and finally picked up a line last week, mostly out of curiosity since I hadn't heard much about them outside the ad I saw.

A few things stood out so far:

The onboarding was actually done entirely on my phone, no store visit, no waiting around for an agent to sort out registration. Scanned my ID, took a selfie, done. Took maybe 10 minutes total.

They also have this AI assistant thing on their site called Sabi where you can check your balance or ask questions without having to call anyone. Not sure how useful that will be long term but it was a nice touch for someone who doesn't like calling customer care for small things.

Data rates seem reasonable so far, haven't done a deep comparison against MTN or Airtel yet, would be curious what other people are seeing since data pricing changes so often here.

One thing I noticed, you can't port your existing number over yet, that feature isn't live. So if you're switching, you're starting with a new number for now, worth knowing before you commit if you need to keep your old number.

Anyone else on Lebara yet? Curious how network coverage has been for people outside Lagos, that's the main thing I'm still trying to figure out before deciding if I fully switch over.
what about the Internet speed?
