Peter Obi has spoken on the use of public funds for medical treatment abroad, saying that under his watch, no civil servant or appointed political office holder would travel abroad for medical treatment at public expense without a clear medical recommendation and proper authorization.

Obi made the statement after the inauguration and official opening of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) Delta State Campaign Headquarters in Asaba.

He said his administration would focus on strengthening Nigeria’s healthcare system while ensuring that public resources are used responsibly and for the benefit of the people.

The former Anambra State governor also stressed the need for proper procedures before public officials can access government funds for medical treatment outside the country.
