Kingsley Moghalu Rejects Appointment Into Atiku Campaign Council

I am surprised to see a statement from @atiku and @ADCNig campaign team including my name as a member of former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar’s policy team for the 2027 presidential campaign.

For the record:

1. I was not consulted and did not give my consent to my name being published as a member of the ADC candidate’s policy team.

2. I am NOT, in fact a member of Atiku’s policy team, even unofficially or in any advisory capacity.

3. I have quit partisan politics in Nigeria since 2022. I have maintained, and continue to maintain, my non-partisan posture in our country’s national affairs. I am not a member or sympathizer of any political party in Nigeria.

4. My primary engagement is as President of @IGETAfrica
, a non-partisan public policy think tank and executive education academy, and as CEO of Sogato Strategies, a geopolitical risk and regulatory strategy advisory firm.

5. I remain committed to my country, Nigeria and its progress, but such commitment does not have to entail ANY partisan alignment. I have adopted the path of statesmanship, not partisanship.

Atiku always makes this mistake. It is clear the list was rushed amd consultations were not made. Same happened when ADC formef a 50 wise men and women council of manifesto drafters. Yemi Adamolekun denied ever being consulted.

What would it have cost if someone had called Moghalu before publishing?

That write up didn’t say he rejected the role. What he stated is that he is non partisan.

Not out of freewill but because they know how vindictive Tinubu is against those who openly oppose him. Even Peter Obi has voiced out on how politicians plead with him not to openly grace their events because of the hostility of Tinubu. It's the same reason that Tinubu has instructed all the governors to prevent opposition candidates from erecting banners in their states. Tinubu is so insecure and afraid.

This happened in Yobe today. They are not a part of any campaign council and they are the ones that really matter.

Meanwhile, APC have to pay people to grace their campaign rallies in Tinubu's own backyard in the Southwest and they still end up shortchanging them.

There are thousands more like her. APC won by-elections in Kano last weekend. Again, before Wike's Rainbow Coalition, there was Rice and Beans politics. APC does not solely belong to Tinubu. After he is voted out in 2027. The real owners will take over the party.
