History made! Enugu Rangers striker Godwin Obaje has officially joined the exclusive 100-goal club in the Nigeria Premier Football League. Obaje reached the milestone with a match-winning penalty in Rangers’ 1–0 away victory over Warri Wolves in Ozoro on Wednesday. The historic century has been built across five NPFL clubs, with Obaje’s goals coming for Wikki Tourists, FC Ifeanyi Ubah, Plateau United, Abia Warriors and Enugu Rangers. His Rangers tally now stands at 35 goals. ▪️ Wikki Tourists: 25 goals ▪️ FC Ifeanyi Ubah: 16 goals ▪️ Plateau United: 1 goal ▪️ Abia Warriors: 23 goals ▪️ Enugu Rangers: 35 goals Obaje also previously won the NPFL Golden Boot with Wikki Tourists after scoring 18 goals in the 2016 season. 100 NPFL goals. Many strikers that did not score up to 100 and are 30years of age or 29 are the ones getting invited to the national team. Taiwo Awoniyi scored only 4 goals last season and one goal this season. Yet he was invited to the national team and played against Guinea Bissau. And I wonder if our strikers both home and abroad are poorer than him in front of goal in their respective leagues that they were not giving a priority. 10 Likes 2 Shares |

In the past NFF used to reserve 3 slots for home based players during qualifying matches, AFCON and world cup. People like Vincent Enyema, Sunday Mba, Romanus Orjinta and co. These guys were given the opportunity to play for the super eagles despite being home based players. This current NFF administration is just a mess. They don't give home based players the opportunity to showcase their talent for the national. And it's bad. Because how else can our home based players develop if they're not given the opportunity to do so. 7 Likes |

Is this guy not better than all of the flops we have running around the pitch and calling themselves super eagles? A player has scored 100 goals but because he plays for the local league, he has never been called to play for Nigeria. You see where our problem lies? And that our coach that calls himself Michelle abi wetin be him name sef, albino wey no gree complete him skin colour change, it is time he begins to look inwards. I don't think he has gotten a call up to the super eagles yet but they will keep calling some bench warmers in Europe to come and use super eagles match for warm up and doing quota system with team selection. If this player Obaje has dollars to bribe his way like those europe based players then he would have been called up to play for super eagles. The only coach Nigeria truly had was Westahoff and Bonfree Jo other are just useless especially Egwavon and Christain Chukwu and this current coach is competing to be the best of the worst. Imagine a coach saying the other team are using juju in this time and age and we believe such a fellow should continue as our national team coach. sacajawea:Samson siasia was convicted of what crime in case you forgot and Stephen Keshi was a tribal bigot for all i care....Westahoff and Bonfree Jo were the only coaches that handled the super eagles purely as a football development and achievement basis others had strings atrached but as a typical emtional Nigerian you will not agree or rationalise it away on some emotional reasoning. |
