The most selfish player ever liveth. My dream is to score 1000 goals. Even if Portugal is defeated 10-1, he prefers to score the only goal to add to his goal stacks. Never cared about the collective success of the team. Everything thing to him is personal records and goals. Who would have believed he wouldn't hang boot after the terrible and shameful performance at the last world cup? A 41 year old football grandpa that prefers to die on the field than let the younger generation flourish and shine. Had Luis Figo and Co played till their 50's without allowing the young Ronaldo to shine,will Ronaldo be who he is today? Leave when the ovation is loud but he chose the path of humiliation and shameful ending because of obsession to score 1000 goals. All he achieved is fast crumbling because of greed. This is no way to treat CR7 that has done so much for Portugal & paid his dues to football. Yes, leaving camp was wrong, but the coach was equally disrespectful in inviting a VIP like CR7 to his squad & abandoning him on the bench for 90mins. He should have at least given him even if it's 10mins of playtime. Worse still, the coach stated he would not start CR7 in the next match against Denmark, &that he may or may not bring him in as substitute. That was when CR7 decamped. Bear in mind that Ronaldo really desires to clock 1000 career goals. The coach should have left him out of the squad if he had no intention of playing him. 29 Likes |
