No you don’t have to!
Whatever speed you pay for is exactly what you get

It depends on the policy of the network. If they promised symmetric download and upload, then yes, it would be 100Mbps up and down. Some networks don't give symmetric though. It seems MTN Fiber is not symmetric.

In fibre both up and down are the same but in Nigeria reverse is the case
Re: MTN FibreX - Installation, Speed Tests, Availability, And All You Need To Know by CavendishPlex: 3:19pm On Aug 27
I use FibreOne, Ikonectt and only just recently connected to MTN FiberX on Monday. Of the three, MTN FiberX is the only one that gives about half the download speed as the upload speed. I signed up for the 50Mbps base plan on MTN FiberX and I've never gotten higher than 27Mbps as upload speed. But one thing I like about it is that it's the only one among the three that gives the closest to the plan signed up for.

Why are they doing this it doesn't make sense tbh i saw someone on the 1Gbps plan he is only getting 400Mbps as upload speed.

Is this FibreX truly unlimited?

A neighbour wants me to connect to his own and We'll be sharing the payment.

What really works for me when I have unresolved issues with my FibreX connection is calling them out on twitter, one of their staff usually responds asking me to DM with details, and follows up with a phonecall. Give this a try

Downtime has come again in my area. Small rain these few days and I came home to meet red blinking RED light on my router yesterday. Today I have returned to meet the same thing. I am sure equipment somewhere has been damaged. Last time this happened took about two weeks before it was fixed, and they never compensated me for the lost time. Only God knows when they will sort this one out. Well, by month end sub will expire, time to finally port, time to test run Airtel, instead of paying another 30K for their 50Mbps lemme pay Airtel 25K and set up ODU 🤔
Re: MTN FibreX - Installation, Speed Tests, Availability, And All You Need To Know by johnnyholtby(m):
Local ISPs fully summarised.

Terrible customer service
Hardly any form of compensation when there's a downtime
Sh!tty when it works
Expensive subscription fee with poor service

Country is robbing us of basic things!

The last time I had a downtime, I was informed by the rep to always call back after my issue has been resolved to request for compensation. I believe this is for when the downtime lasts for a considerable amount of time.

I called and messaged them, they even called me after it had been resolved. In the end I did not see any compensation, after a whole two weeks in limbo 🫤

you can only notice the compensation on your expected date of expiry. It will exceed that date and keep working. If you're expecting a message confirming such,it won't come

Lol. My subscription has never exceeded the expiry date. They have long stopped messaging me to let me know that the expiry is near, but it never exceeds the date. The way the data go jus off abruptly, then I realize it is the day it was supposed to expire.. if it exceeds the date I will know, when it eventually expires and the data goes off, I will know whether or not they added any extra days, I am not one that recharges the account beforehand so that the subscription can renew automatically.

By next week I will start processing the Airtel, the FibreX is virtually useless now with their downtime.

What do I do if the nearest fibre X Pole to the house where I need the installation is far. For instance about 300 Meters.
1000ft fibre optics cable very cheap from china or you if can get more people interested in your area they will extend it there since it near already
