Tinubu Is Unpopular In Nigeria - The Economist by Penguin2(op): 10:05am On Oct 02
The world knows that Tinubu is unpopular but only banking on divisions to get back to power.

That Nigeria’s unpopular president is not quaking in his suede loafers ahead of the next election says less about him and more about the country’s complicated electoral dynamics

Nigerians Dislike Their President, But May Re-Elect Him Anyway

With just over three months to go until Nigerians vote for a president, the incumbent does not look particularly worried about his re-election prospects. On September 29th Bola Tinubu (pictured), who expects to win a second term in January, returned from Paris after a month-long stay in Europe. He had previously extended his “working holiday” by several days, raising eyebrows at home.

On the face of it, Mr Tinubu’s cool is surprising. Nigeria is suffering a worsening security crisis, with people kidnapped and killed by bandits or insurgents on a near-daily basis. His economic reforms, though lauded by investors, have yet to make life better for most of the country’s 240m people. Add to that political challengers who are more popular than him, especially in the northern states worst affected by violence and economic deprivation, and the president should be quaking in his suede loafers. That he is not says less about him and more about Nigeria’s complicated electoral dynamics.

He knows that, even his followers know.

More reason they are cheering undemocratic activities, forgetting that the table can turn at any time, and when it turns , they would be at the receiving end and Nigerians would use the internet to remind them their activities and what they supported today..

As for the claim of reelecting him is dead on arrival, because Nigerians will resist any form of madness next year.. No sane person chooses what he doesn’t like..

Don't mind The Economist. While they are trying to set the agenda to a 2-horse race, we all know what a free and fair election can do. We just want to pretend that it must be the way APC kicked PDP out that APC must be sent away from the Presidency, thereby repeating the same mistake of a merger of stranger bedfellows with only one mission, TO WIN.

We all know how Tinubu sought validation for the first few months after his 'win'. Asiwaju! He opens doors for you know what cheesy wink

Of course, "re-election" is already certain after signing off on $700B critical mineral "deal" bribe with America.

Nigerians don't "elect" their presidents by the way - imperialists do.

It’s glaring them at, The Economist are not aware that it’s no longer a Trinity but Quarternity-The Father, Son, Holy Spirit and His Excellency, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR).

Calling the Demigod “unpopular” is a sin and the media house should seek forgiveness and repent.
let us be honest he is not popular, the saving grace he has is the unserious opposition.

Dear Economist,

Your first phrase "Nigerians dislike their president" is very correct. But the second, "But may re-elect him anyway" is not true. He's planning of rigging himself back in but we're not going to let him.

Thank you.
Re: Tinubu Is Unpopular In Nigeria - The Economist by Haydens: 10:41am On Oct 02
Simply put it "he'll rig his way in".

Don't put it on Nigerians, we all hate tinubu even data boys do hate him too.
Re: Tinubu Is Unpopular In Nigeria - The Economist by waywardpikin: 10:41am On Oct 02
The question nobody seems to be asking is, what will happen if the INEC Chairman announces him as winner, regardless of who amasses the most votes. What will happen if the mandate is stolen?

Who dey announce winner dey important pass who dey count votes or the number of people that vote.

If no be for "who dey announce winner", Prof Otti would never have emerged as Governor of Abia state. This is an indisputable fact.

Re: Tinubu Is Unpopular In Nigeria - The Economist by EponObi(f): 10:43am On Oct 02
😂😂😂😂 obidents!

He posted this not knowing he's promoting Tinubu.

Many of you work for Tinubu and APC but don't know. Or maybe you didn't read the content of what you posted and only ran with the headline.

According to the article:

- Election is three months away
- Tinubu is unpopular
- Tinubu isn't bothered about re-election
- "Tinubu's cool is surprising"
- Insecurity, economic hardship despite investors praising the reforms
- Opponents more popular "and the president should be quaking in his suede loafers. That he is not says less about him and more about Nigeria’s complicated electoral dynamics."

If The Economist is saying from what they've observed and analysed, the president should be shivering right now but they are surprised he remained cool, then the opposition should be afraid.

You just validated Tinubu's confidence in the next election while trying to trash him. Lol... This not the propaganda material you think it is. 😂
