SW region is still backward. They should go to anambra and see what is called airport built by obiano. Besides ibadan needs good roads, not an airport |

How many people travel out of ibadan on a regular basis for there to be an airport costing 41 billion especially as Lagos and Ogun have 41 billion that could have been used to lift his people out of poverty. Be like airport na the new corruption racket. |

Ibadan has been civilised and well connected to the outside since when your ancestors were still using leaves to hide their unclothedness. Imagine the audacious comparison. Ibadan to Anambra, lol Goo0dHardDick: |

Nigerian politicians are very terrible. Just look at the one Dave Umahi built in Ebonyi. Always looking for an avenue to siphon money. Why can't they channel this money to project that will affect or impact on people directly? Spending billions on projects that are not sustainable. |

How many megawatt of power can 41 billion produce? Abeg before you type online try and a little research do that you will not disgrace yourself 43Ronin: |

EleventhWeirdo:That's old history. It's like saying Iran is more developed than UK because Iran (Persia) was more advanced 2,500 years ago. In modern day, Ibadan can't be compared to Oyo. Period. |

This waste of resources on super highways or Airports in locations not profitably worthy na wahala for future. Imagine somebody about leaving office. Some go come dey shout progressive. |

Goo0dHardDick:What's the traffic? It's not all about building? Does it generate reasonable revenue? |
| Re: The New Ibadan International Airport: The ₦41 Billion Project Changing Southwest by happney65: 10:53pm On Oct 02 |
boxypane:The project started in his first term. Dualisation of the airport road was done. It was even wike that came to commission the road coupled with planes being able to refuel in Ibadan. Unlike before that they will come with full tank. Hence came Airpeace flying the Ibadan route The expansion of the runway and others started in his second term so it isnt a new project. It was being done one step at a time Travellers in Oyo and osun states and Kwara states wont have to.go to Lagos to fly intermationally, they will fly from Ibadan when the work is done in December |

Authoreety:Hope you know every state in Nigeria had a functional airport in the 70s? Poor maintenance culture messed things up. You can't talk about commercialisation or industrialization in Nigeria without mentioning airports in every state, same goes with railways |

Afrobasic:We are not cursed. Far from it. Truth is, the Lagos Airport is already overstretched and just okay for its location and huge environment. Travelling all the way by road into the South-West after a touch down in Lagos is stressful. That is cut out with an International Airport in place at Ibadan. Ibadan is an extremely big city that, ordinarily speaking, should be a State on its own. Getting out of the airport a right town takes you all the way to Osogbo, Ile-Ife, Ilesa, Akure, Owo, Ikare, Okene, Kabba and Lokoja. A left town takes you into the town proper, Oyo, Ogbomoso, Abeokuta, Shaki, Iseyin e.t.c. With the soon completion of the concrete roads from Ibadan to Ilesa and ongoing to Okene and Lokoja it is an excellent proposition ongoing to execution. The Power Project will come on stream soon. Its the next big thing after the Int. airport. Seyi Makinde has done extremely as a State Governor but overreached himself running for President while still a sitting State Governor. Our Laws should preclude executive office holders such as state governors from seeking election into any office until one year after the conclusion of their tenure. Reason includes that focus is lost while seeking another elective office during the pendency of the governorship term and biggest of all is that the funds and paraphernalia of the State are bound to be deployed wastefully and needlessly in the pursuit of another elective office by the sitting Governor which is what Seyi Makinde is doing presently! |

43Ronin:Then you don't know Ibadan . If you think people don't travel out on a regular basis. Instead of the stress of coming to Lagos airport. ...the airport is a welcome development. |

0 zoedew:You are wasting your explanations on someone who supports a fella who spent 8 years cutting grasses of schools without building a single new one. He has never experienced good governance where he comes from and so this airport upgrade development is enough to turn his head upside down. |
| Re: The New Ibadan International Airport: The ₦41 Billion Project Changing Southwest by Wickedfacts: 11:18pm On Oct 02 |
43Ronin:Go and donate your advice to Alex Otti who wants to build an airport for an Abia state not up to Ogbomosho combined with Eruwa in landmass. |
