The Independent National Electoral Commission has opened its online portal for the recruitment of ad-hoc staff for the 2027 General Election.

The commission said interested and eligible Nigerians can apply through the INECPRES (INEC Portal for the Engagement of Election Staff), which is currently active.

According to the official INECPRES portal, the application window will close on Wednesday, November 18, 2026.

INEC is recruiting personnel across several categories, including Supervisory Presiding Officers (SPOs), Registration Area Centre (RAC) Managers, Presiding Officers (POs), Assistant Presiding Officers (APOs), and Registration Area Technical Support (RATECH).

Available Positions

The commission's current portal provides the following categories:

Supervisory Presiding Officer (SPO): Public or civil servants on Grade Level 10–14, as well as eligible INEC staff not engaged in other election duties.
Registration Area Centre (RAC) Manager: Heads of schools or staff on Grade Level 07 and above in institutions or public buildings hosting RAC centres.
Presiding Officer (PO)/Assistant Presiding Officer (APO): Eligible serving NYSC members, penultimate-year students of federal or state tertiary institutions with IT knowledge, qualifying MDA staff, eligible INEC staff and former corps members.
Registration Area Technical Support (RATECH): Applicants with the required IT background and eligibility for the category.

INEC also requires applicants to meet other eligibility conditions. The official portal states that applicants must not be members of a political party or have demonstrated or expressed support for any candidate or political party. Applicants are also generally required to reside in the state selected, except for RATECH applicants.

How to Apply

Application Deadline

The INECPRES portal states that applications for the 2027 General Election ad-hoc staff recruitment will close on November 18, 2026.

My candid advise to those that wish to apply for any of the position, don't allow politicians or any political party cause your family pain or to be the reason you didn't fullfil your destiny because if you collect their money to rig in their favour irrespective of the party, you may not return home alive.

Me? God forbid. How much do they pay them again for such risk? Even at my lowest moment I can't apply for this type of work

They'll always genuinely open this one to the public but juicy public offices will be hoarded and shared by slots among politicians before opening audio application portals.

This is part of the problem. We can only influence a system from the inside. The more involved you become in the electoral process, the better. Who knows maybe if you are an agent, maybe you will be the reason the integrity of votes from your polling unit will be maintained. This is for others thinking they wont do it too, lets all get involved if we can.
We made the same mistake with participation in politics over the years and its now very difficult to get in because the evil men and women we left it to all these years have become gatekeepers, making it difficult for sane people to have any chance.

Except I'm missing something, most of the roles are only open to civil servants and INEC staff... Only one is open to corp members and undergraduates

Those that have conquered greed and wants to serve their country should step forward to apply. ADC and OK and other parties should encourage their supporters to apply too.

This election is different from any we have had in the past due to the hardship, hunger and anger in the land. Don't allow yourself to used by politicians to aggravate the people and be used as an example.
