Fatima El Mansouri Becomes Morocco’s First Female PM

50-year-old Fatima Ezzahra El Mansouri has emerged as Morocco’s first ever female Head of Government.

She was appointed as the country’s Prime Minister by King Mohammed VI on Tuesday 29 September 2026.

This followed the victory of her liberal-centrist Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM) which won 97 out of 395 seats in the parliamentary elections held on 23 September 2026.

El Mansouri is a lawyer and politician who previously served as Mayor of Marrakesh and as Minister of National Planning, Housing, and Urban Policy.

As her party did not get an outright majority in the election, she now has the responsibility of negotiating to form a governing coalition.

Is Morocco Islam practices different from Nigeria? cause the last time I checked, Morocco kinda Islam is more accommodating and friendly to women and Nigeria islam will not allowed a woman to open her hair or head without covering....

The young tuface wife is a lawmaker in her state. We have many of them leading some of the top 20 banks in Nigeria.

Lets not even talk about political position, let's start from the course she read, how many of the female do you guys allow to read law? Because if you allow them they will fight for the girl and woman right! QED.

No muslim woman in Nigeria, especially in the west is arrested for not covering her hair. I think in the north as well.

North or Muslim north? You are free to mention women that had/have represented states like KANO, JIGAWA, SOKOTO, KEBBI in the past and not states that have significant number of christians.
