BREAKING: Ogun APC Guber Ticket In Jeopardy As Petition Seeks Disqualification Of Senator Yayi Over Alleged N10bn Vehicle DDonations A constitutional petition has been filed before the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) seeking the immediate disqualification of Senator Yayi as the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for Ogun State over alleged violation of the Electoral Act 2026. The petition, filed by a patriotic concerned citizen and registered voter in Abeokuta, says Yayi and his sponsors tramplesd on tthe electoral llaw Senator Yayi himself on September 28, 2026, published on his official Facebook page that he had received 119 vehicles — buses, ambulance, pickup and mini-bus from 22 donors for his governorship campaign. According to the petition, many of the so-called donors are ghosts. They have no real names, no addresses, no identity. Yayi listed them as “Citiside Brother”, “Sanusi Friend”, “Olafem Citi Friend”, “Onaolapo Brother”, “OJ”, “Polanco”, “Efele Ijebu” and “Nafiu Abimbola & Friend”. Who are these people? Where do they live? Are they even Nigerians? Or are they fronts used to launder money into Ogun politics? The petition claims this as an attempt to conceal the true source of campaign funds and evade the law. One Man, 26 Buses Worth N728 Million Above Legal Limit The petition singled out Mr. Akintunde Armstrong, the convener of Yayi Progressives Movement, who alone was credited with donating 26 buses. Under Section 92( of the Electoral Act 2026, no individual or entity can donate more than N500 million to a candidate. But at the modest Nigerian-used price of N28 million per Toyota HiAce bus, Armstrong’s 26 buses alone are worth N728 million — far above the N500 million limit. If they are new buses at N90 million each, that is N2.3 billion from one man! Six other donors were credited with 7 to 10 buses each, including companies like Zacobass Oil & Gas and Stonebridge Engineering Services Ltd. The petitioner also reminded INEC that in May 2026, this same Yayi Progressives Movement announced N1 billion cash and 27 branded buses for Yayi. If you add that to the 26 buses credited to its convener. N1bn.7 Billion Buses — Yayi Has Already Surpassed N3bn Limit The Electoral Act 2026 is very clear. Section 92 fixes the total amount a governorship candidate can spend at N3 billion for the entire election. But Yayi’s 119 buses alone, at N28 million each, is N3.33 billion. At new price of N90 million each, it is N10.7 billion more than three times the legal limit! And this is before fuel, branding, drivers, rallies, posters, and the alleged N1 billion cash are added. The petitioner is asking INEC to act now, not after the damage is done: 1. Compel Yayi and APC to produce full legal names, addresses, chassis numbers and invoices of all 22 donors and 119 vehicles. 2. Summon Yayi and Armstrong to explain their billions. 3. Determine the true market value of the vehicles and confirm the breach of the N3bn limit. 4. Force Yayi and APC to file and publish interim campaign finance returns since campaign started on September 9, 2026. 5. Disqualify Senator Adeola as APC governorship candidate if he knowingly violated Section 92, or go to Federal High Court to remove him. As the petition correctly stated: “This petition is not political. It concerns compliance with the law… A candidate who gains an advantage through a breach of the electoral finance rules should not benefit from it.”

Unfortunately, nothing will come out of this. A man that is an origin of 3 states in Nigeria and yet politically allowed to jump to any states to contest for election. Unfortunately also, Adebutu can never win Ogun state gubernatorial election. He is not a grassroot candidate and PDP is a failed party already. Unfortunately, either way. Ogun state indigenes will be the one to loose and have another corrupt and "eleyi" as another governor. Iree ooooo |

Lazy petitioners and lame petitions. The petitioners are just like Kachalla; they are chasing shadows. They should rather embrace reality because Yayi is their next Governor. |

After seeing the cars, buses I pity Nigeria. It's shameful and sad how few lavish resources of the masses. Even If they buses were donations won't he compensate them back in folds ? |

Nonsense petition. The faceless group condemning this donation will receive these donations with open arms if they were in his shoe. And to say,Adebutu is fronting it to have come from Abeokuta says a lot. Yayi is already the governor in Ogun State. |

I don't understand the reason people seek the disqualification or withdrawals of their political opponents before they can feel comfortable to contest If you are popular, leave the INEC to do it's due diligence based on the facts available to it while you go out there to indicate your interest in the position and canvas for the people to vote for you. |

Are these so called petitioners serious at all? Petition to INEC to do what exactly? Sounds like they have been receiving legal advice from Layi Wasabi. If there are issues stemming from the contravention of certain laws, are they not supposed to approach the court? Smh |

Againstthewall:That was before the Apc primary. The issue which I raised then are now been raised. I am still not a fan of Yayi but you see that Ladi is a Capital NO. Abiodun can't be wrapping up his 8 years and still Ladi from the same local government dreaming to be the next governor |

Hemanwel:Just listen to yourself. This is about popularity, willingness and ability to contest elections but you're talking about thugs and oppression! Are you struggling with comprehension or just trying to derail the thread? Political positions are contested and won on popularity because it's a game of numbers. So pettiness has no place here. The same reason you would always route for those dodging contest for primaries but want to be the flag bearer of a party he never founded. |

This obsession these Lado people have with Yayi may well be their undoing. I have never seen a supposed governorship camp this dishevelled just four months to an election. They are clutching at every straw that feeds their delusional fantasies, throwing everything at the wall just to see what sticks.🤡 When people continue to come after you this relentlessly, just know that you are giving them sleepless nights. |
