I built a school management platform and I need people to help me test it 🇳🇬

Hi everyone!

I've been working on a project called SchoolOnline — a school management platform designed for primary and secondary schools in Nigeria.

The idea is to help schools manage their day-to-day activities without having to juggle different tools for everything.

I've been building the platform for a while, and I'd love to get some honest feedback from people outside my own development environment.

I'm looking for volunteers who can help me:

- Test the platform and report any bugs or things that don't work as expected.
- Point out confusing interfaces or things that could be easier to use.
- Suggest features that would actually be useful to Nigerian schools.
- Share general feedback on the idea and what could be improved.

Website: https://schoolonline.com.ng

If you have a few minutes to explore it, please share your thoughts in the comments. I'd genuinely appreciate the help!

Thanks!

Well done.... The landing page UI could still use some more effort to make it stand out.

I personally prefer the self-hosted solution model for school management software like this - one it removes the burden from you to manage user data, and routine maintenance. Secondly, it allows the school have the option to use the platform as a local solution (LAN).

The pricing UX is friendly to navigate.
The visuals are topnotch. Can you incorporate visual illustration on the first page.I feel the first page is too worded.

Okay.

My main concern is that many schools may not have the technical capacity to manage their own servers, databases, backups, security, and routine maintenance. They would still need to pay for cloud hosting and possibly someone to manage the infrastructure.

With SchoolOnline, I'm taking on that technical burden so schools can focus on running their institutions, and they pay for that convenience through their subscriptions.

However, I agree that offline access is worth considering. I could explore it as an additional option for schools that need it, while keeping cloud hosting as the default for schools that want a managed solution.

Thank you for your feedback.

Taking a step back to evaluate the situation presented here reveals a great deal of nuance, demonstrating that calm, constructive dialogue will always yield better insights than quick reactions. Thank you once again for putting this together and stimulating worthwhile debate.
