While I dislike Tinubu 👎 but the heading is very mischievous. Petrol cost around 1350 at depots and diesel 1900.
You are correct but Nigeria occupies a mid-tier position among OPEC members, selling fuel at significantly higher rates than heavily subsidized member nations, yet it remains substantially cheaper than Western economies and non-OPEC regional neighbors grin

It shows us that comparing apples to oranges isn't always sweet and that's what I find disingenuous when the analysts choose some countries to compare Nigeria's suffering to without considering what the minimum wage is, whether those countries have 24/7 light among others.

Did you read the bolded?

NIPCO led the increases in Port Harcourt, raising its Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, price by N170 per litre to N1,900 from N1,730, while six other depots increased their prices by N150 to the same level.

PMS (fuel/petrol as we call it) is not AGO (diesel)

PMS is not AGO
PMS was never sold 1,730. In fact, it has not crossed 1,500per liter.

Re: Petrol Hits N1,900/litre As Depot Prices Surge Despite NNPC Cut by onuman: 10:44am On Oct 10
Fuel price increases indirectly leading to untimely deaths of thousands of Nigerians a day.
As the Naira gains against other foreign currencies, cost of essential items are rising to the roofs.
Tinubu/APC Economic policies are like operating a VODOO ECONOMY.

TINUBU MUST GO.
Re: Petrol Hits N1,900/litre As Depot Prices Surge Despite NNPC Cut by onuman: 10:53am On Oct 10
AMINDA:
It's now clear that the press release itself was hurriedly put together because they got the info that fuel price was about to hit 1900 naira. This is why they announced that fuel price will be capped at 1345. But Taiwo Oyedele lied by saying the NNPC will be selling at cost and that only their profit will be foregone. If we are to go by what was said, Nigerians will continue to buy fuel at the fixed price of 1345 long after fuel price reduces in the internationally market until fuel marketers recoup their excess cost, if ever. This opacity opens the door for massive corruption beyond what Nigerians have ever seen. At this point, it would have been better if the government had just continued paying subsidies since corruption was what they gave as a major reason for discontinuing it.
The corruption surrounding fuel subsidy has been the issue all along, not fuel subsidy itself.
Peter Obi was right with saying that he will eliminate the corruption but sustain subsidy.

This is not true.
The wicked, anti people politician said he would continue Tinubu subsidies removal.it was the same way he supported LP lawmakers having expensive SUVs while people are struggling with inflation and hardship.

Headlines like this are clearly meant to do one thing; be the devil's advocate! Why can't you say Petrol sells for N1360 across Nigeria but high in Portharcourt despite discount ?
Re: Petrol Hits N1,900/litre As Depot Prices Surge Despite NNPC Cut by Druss(m): 11:21am On Oct 10
My cynical mind wonders if this increase is due to the recently announced govt move to control price for a month ...
Re: Petrol Hits N1,900/litre As Depot Prices Surge Despite NNPC Cut by papin190: 11:25am On Oct 10
One thing Tinubu does not understand is that a coup is a coup, they failed with the military coup but might succeed with an industrialist coup. It's so unfortunate that the president is busy with inefficient reforms and gains with his boys that they are Missing the bigger picture. I won't be surprised if the North install Atiku come 2027. Afterall an enemy of my enemy is my friend. Jonathan was good enough, but they removed him to install buhari who is now better than Tinubu.

Is that what you think?

With the interview of Hon Minister of Finance, Taiwo Oyedele yesterday on channel TV, I've come to the conclusion that Atiku, Obi, kwakwaso, Ameachi Adebayo etc lacked knowledge of the petroleum sector. They don't even know how it works. Rather, they're just making promises that cannot be fulfilled. Atiku said fuel will be #400, Adebayo said #200, kwakwaso said he would return subsidy, Obi, in his characteristics middleway approach and trying to be clever by half said he would remove corruption in the sector. It's either they all lack sufficient information about the sector or they're just deceiving Nigeria and Nigerians to get their votes.
