Despite removing subsidy and plunging tens of millions of Nigerians into extreme hardship, still Nigeria is drowning in more debt. SAN Femi Falana and well meaning Nigerians urge you to stand together and defend the votes of everyone. Let no thug or agbero stand at your polling unit and determine who will vote and who won’t. Defend yourself and others for a better Nigeria.

Let me simplify it for you and other Tinubu supporters: People can consume over 100% of their income, they make it up by borrowing, and that’s what your government has been doing. olaNL: |

All these same debt that we are talking about na APC Buhari and Tinubu own. APC borrowed more than 80 percent of our total debt. Before we now speak of government waste across region. I don't want to speak about the corruption aspect. Only for waste we spend trillions of naira. Buying things we don't need and approving project because you want to steal. |

This is actually good news, but something doesn’t add up in the report. Federation debt service-to-revenue fell from 86% in 2023 to 38% in 2024, rising to 42% in 2025. FG revenue grew 72% to ₦6.2tn in H1 2026, while interest payments rose just 37.5%. Consequently, interest-to-FG-revenue fell from 156% to 124%. That’s an improvement in FG’s fiscal position, not a deterioration. Also, the 124% is against FG revenue, NOT total federation revenue. Context matters |

Debt servicing provision in the 26 budget is N15tr......the figure quoted there is just about half of the provision whic covers half of 2026. The total amount for debt servicing isnt up to half of estimated revenue for 2026 at N36tr.........maybe WB is referring to a subset of our revenue, oil or non oil. To all the indolent opposition buffoons tinubu didn't borrow all the debt your country is owing......gej took us back to over $60b from $3.6b obj left us,buhari took us to $108b.......tinubu took us to $120.9b as at H1 26. https://www.dmo.gov.ng/6080-nigeria-s-total-public-debt-as-at-june-30-2026/file https://www.dmo.gov.ng/4324-nigeria-s-total-public-debt-as-at-march-31-2023/file https://www.dmo.gov.ng/62-total-public-debt-stock-as-at-31st-march-2015/file Gej between december 2012 and March 2015 already borrowed more than tinubu has in 4 almost 4 years.....about $20b. |

The opposition will never ask such question but if it's FG taking loans, that's when we start hearing so many incoherent stories Modified: Considering how the opposition supporters reacted to this without even comprehending the whole epistle, they are a disgrace to the Nigerian youths Shame on them |

lapintoz:Your govt is spending over 100% of what it earns on debt servicing. There is no money to provide healthcare, infrastructure and other good things of life. Instead of you to cry about the state of your country, you are worried about what atiku or obi has to say. Two very financially comfortable men. You are worrying on behalf of tinubu, instead of crying for your future. You are of all men, most miserable. |

It's the way of the oil dependent economy. Or the resource dependent economy Because all our revenue comes from oil and the oil is not enough ,.we have been borrowing for decades This is the cumulative effect And that is why we cannot have a subsidy on fuel |

Nigeria is officially drowning in debt. The government spent ₦7.7 trillion on interest alone, 124% of its entire federal revenue! Imagine earning ₦100, spending ₦124 just servicing loans, and still needing money for food, rent and electricity. That's Nigeria's fiscal reality. Even worse, capital spending reportedly collapsed to just ₦700 billion. Money that should build hospitals, roads and schools is being swallowed by debt. It's going from bad to worse, and Nigerians have every right to question whether those managing the economy have a coherent plan. With fuel prices rising and inflation still punishing ordinary people, monetary policy, Interest rates are being cut. Global interest-rate policies are actually on the rise due to inflationary pressure, you can see this in the USA,UK,Germany and even Japan, but Nigeria is cutting rates surprisingly.....Makes me wonder, do they really know what they are doing ? Where is the accountability, and where is the exit strategy? Is the government planning to run the country to the ground ? |

The government should gear up revenue, that is the only sensible option and they can equally sell some national assets to offset part of the debt and relief the burden. |
