I feel sorry for anyone who will think of doing any kind of SLIDING CELEBRATION after scoring a goal here. E go chop hospital food taya. this is the kind of GRASS they want to put in a stadium? Mediocrity at its finest |

The Enugu state government has always been a serious one. People centered development. Unlike over 80% of the governors. |

Hope that when they finish renovating it, super eagles would be able to play some of their home games there. |

AllBlack:It looks like artificial turf. |
| Re: National Sports Festival: Work Progresses At Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium by AllBlack: 8:05am On Oct 13 |
Die009:why will it not be beautiful in your eyes? someone put EVENT CENTER PLASTIC RUG in a stadium and took pictures with filters for you in 2026 and it looks NICE to you? Nigerians are so easy to fool and the politicians know this. Are you into engineering or any field that requires measurement? Can you see the thickness of that PLASTIC GRASS? Do you even play football? can that RUG last one year of active playing? Then they will come next year to show you another picture... and it will be NICE again in your eyes. oya come and say AT LEAST THEY TRIED like a usual Nigerian. |

Work always progress whenever there's event..no maintaining culture. The people working there take the maintainance money home.. They and their families are part of the people blaming government for everything |

KosiGee:Definitely is The SUPER Eagles surely can't play here after the festival. They're used to natural grass and this one is not it. |

Not a fan of this artificial turf thing in Nigeria. Remember being in this stadium when it rained heavily once. The whole thing was waterlogged |

AllBlack:Have you paid back the money you borrowed Opay? |
| Re: National Sports Festival: Work Progresses At Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium by nairalanda1(m): 8:31am On Oct 13 |
AllBlack:What's wrong with the grass, and what type of grass should they have put there? Just curious. |
| Re: National Sports Festival: Work Progresses At Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium by nairalanda1(m): 8:32am On Oct 13 |
owobokiri:Probably because the stadium did not have a good enough drainage system under the turf. And even with that, waterlogging can happen. |
| Re: National Sports Festival: Work Progresses At Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium by iwaeda: 8:32am On Oct 13 |
After the festival, nothing will be left. We lack maintenance culture. At this time of our history, we should be able to host FIFA World Cup, but kept on wasting resources on same edifice. ![]() |
| Re: National Sports Festival: Work Progresses At Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium by AllBlack: 8:35am On Oct 13 |
Jocdon:The day I borrow money from opay will be the day opay will close. opay? what a joke. stop trying to reflect your life problems on other people. |
| Re: National Sports Festival: Work Progresses At Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium by nairalanda1(m): 8:36am On Oct 13*. Modified: 10:21am On Oct 13 |
iwaeda:We don't lack maintenance culture, the issue is, a stadium has to make money to pay for maintenance and upgrades...and the only way it can do that is by hosting events continually. Here in Nigeria, we do not have enough sporting events being hosted on a continous basis for the stadiums here to pay for their keep. We don't have enough swimming, basketball, athletics, etc competions for the stadiums to make enough money to pay for their upkeep. European and North American stadia almost every week have an event happening , be it sporting or non sporting, or are being used by sports clubs...plus the city authorities use their tax revenue to pay part of the upkeep costs. Nigeria doesn't have that type of sporting attendance culutre, or indeed interest in many sports, to generate enough income for the stadiums to work. That leaves government, and the sports budget is not enough. Even if we had no corruption and zero issues, sporting budgets are not enough. As seen in many Olympic venues in many cities that have rotted after the show is over |

I hate seeing this astroturf of a thing in a modern stadium if Remo stars can use a hybrid pitch what's stopping a whole Enugu state which currently has one of the best football clubs in West Africa (Enugu Rangers that is currently in the CAF champions League ) from installing a hybrid grass, digital perimeter board , and round cover stadium . SE has chosen to remain underdeveloped , no CAF approved stadium in the whole SE what a shame ![]() |
| Re: National Sports Festival: Work Progresses At Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium by spiSeyi: 8:40am On Oct 13 |
nairalanda1:Drainage system khe under a carpet this is more of a carpet bro, the type of hybrid turf in Remo is what we called turf ![]() |
| Re: National Sports Festival: Work Progresses At Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium by spiSeyi: 8:43am On Oct 13 |
AllBlack:A state with one of the best club in West Africa ooo imagine after all this Enugu Rangers couldn't play their CAF champions League here . This is just an ordinary carpet bro ![]() |

Why are our government giving most of the contract to foreigners? I still don't understand it. I think that is why majority of these foreigners don't value Nigerians in our own country |
