iPhones and Luxury Goods Spotted Floating at Sea After Cargo Ship Sinks

Shocking footage circulating online has reportedly shown iPhone boxes, luxury perfumes, and other goods floating in the sea following the sinking of a cargo ship in the Strait of Hormuz amid attacks on commercial vessels.

The incident reportedly involved the Singapore-flagged container ship GFS Pride, which caught fire and sank. Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed the vessel was carrying more than 2,500 containers, although details surrounding the incident remain disputed.

All 21 crew members were reportedly evacuated safely, with no injuries reported by Singapore's Maritime and Port Authority.

About 21 fully laden container ships have been sunk so far by Iran. No insurance company will agree to pay for these loses since they had explicitly warned all vessels against trying to enter the strait of Hormuz. However, the owners of these ships that take the risk of passing the strait of Hormuz, have promised the captains of these ships as much as 6 months salary worth paid for each successful transit. It was tempting.

Iran though, had other plans. With the US midterm elections approaching, Iran wants to increase political pressure on Donald Trump and the republican party. Iran is already targeting ships far outside the strait of Hormuz and is increasing its missile stockpiles.

So far, 26 ships have been hit.
