I fall in the group of people like you.Stingy has been made to look negative but it isn't.You are frugal, discipline, shrewd etc. These are rear qualities that would propell you to greater heights if you master them carefully. Don't succumb to anyone that calls you names and act as if you owe them anything.Remember, most people that might call you stingy are often those that beg alot or feel entitled, women most especially. If you can resist the women, then you are ahead of your game. Most Nigerian men are simps and give away or fall easily. Don't listen or fall to that nonsense about givers never lack,or destiny helper lazy mantra talks, that is commonly uttered nowadays among Nigerians. Do focus on wealth building or creation.Let the money you have saved work for you.Stocks, bonds, treasury bills etc has made ordinary people become millionaires and billionaires.Only a hundred naira or less, for example, can get you stocks in some Nigeria banks.Your money is likely to compound over time including dividend yields. Why waste them on frivolities or give it to women? |

No Goo0dHardDick:The Miser of Willow Creek In the quiet village of Willow Creek lived a man named Silas Croodge. Silas was known far and wide as the stingiest man in the district. While others shared warm meals during the bitter winter months, Silas sat alone in his drafty, dark cottage, wearing a tattered coat and eating dry crusts of bread. He spent his days counting his heavy leather bags of gold coins, which he kept hidden beneath the floorboards. To Silas, every penny spent was a piece of his soul torn away. He hated spending money so much that he even avoided lighting candles at night, preferring to sit in the dark rather than waste a single coin on wax. The villagers avoided Silas, shaking their heads whenever he walked by with a scowl on his face. "Old Croodge loves his gold more than he loves his own life," they would whisper. The Bitter Winter One particularly harsh winter, a fierce blizzard struck Willow Creek. Snow piled up against the doors, and the wind howled like a wounded animal. Silas bundled himself in his threadbare blankets, shivering beside a dead fireplace. He had plenty of logs in his shed, but wood cost money, and he refused to burn it. Late into the night, a timid knock echoed at Silas's door. Silas groaned, annoyed. "Go away! There's nobody here!" he shouted, clutching his money bag. The knocking came again, softer this time, followed by a weak, shivering cough. Grudgingly, Silas shuffled to the door and cracked it open. Standing on the porch was a small, shivering stray dog, its fur matted with snow, alongside a basket left behind by a traveling merchant who had gotten stranded in the storm. Inside the basket was a little boy from the village, orphaned and lost, who had sought shelter on Silas's porch. Silas's first instinct was to slam the door. "If I let them in, they will eat my food and use my warmth," he thought. But as he looked into the boy's blue, tear-filled eyes and saw the dog shaking uncontrollably, something unlatched deep inside his frozen heart. The Fire Within Gritting his teeth, Silas pulled them both inside. He locked the door and rushed to his woodpile, hauling in armloads of logs. For the first time in decades, Silas struck a match, set a blazing fire in the hearth, and watched the flames dance and cast a golden glow across his dusty room. He cooked a warm pot of vegetable stew—using ingredients he had hoarded in his pantry for years—and shared it generously with the boy and the grateful dog. As the boy smiled and thanked him, a strange, warm feeling bloomed in Silas’s chest. It was a warmth that no amount of gold coins had ever been able to buy. A New Chapter When the blizzard cleared the next morning, the villagers came by with shovels to clear the snow, expecting the worst. Instead, they were stunned to see Silas Croodge sitting by a bright window, laughing as the little boy played fetch with the dog on the cottage rug. Silas didn't give away all his wealth overnight, but he learned a valuable lesson: a miser's treasure is always cold, but a generous heart brings a lifetime of warmth. From that day on, the man once known as the stingiest soul in Willow Creek became its most beloved neighbor, discovering that true richness is found in kindness. *Culled |

Goo0dHardDick:It is quite ok to be frugal with spending... But one thing you know deep down,is that a times you end up spending over for something not necessary.... probably because of being overthinking or refusing to heed/seek other people's opinion. |

Goo0dHardDick:As much as I don't advise you to start throwing money around anyhow, it's important for you to know the benefits of giving. God has created life to be a CYCLE (You probably have heard of life cycle, water cycle etc before). This life is a cycle, MUST GIVE TO RECEIVE. Imagine if you eat and dont poo, if you drink water and you dont wee, if you take in oxygen and don't give out carbon dioxide, IT WON'T TAKE LONG BEFORE YOU KPAI. That's the nature of life, we dont keep everything that comes to us, A PERCENTAGE MUST LEAVE US TO KEEP LIFE GOING AS A CYCLE. Others need that percentage to keep their own lives going as well. The trees around us need that Carbondioxide, the soil needs the poops as fertiliser so that plants can grow and give us food. LIFE IS A MYSTERY but some mysteries are just simple to understand. Don't deprive the world it naturally cycle because those who HOLD ONTO what belongs to the world will be forced to leave the world for those who will let the cycle of life go around. |

Goo0dHardDick:Guy you are truly stingy. You don't deserve any good woman, bcuz they will suffer. Funny enough, you can never have too much of the money you are saving, and if peradventure, you become late, they will withdraw that money for vanities like bush meat pepper soup. I hope this doesn't affect your children and wife. Change, be accountable but it shouldn't be to the extent of allowing your relationship to crash than to release 5k |
