You should also endeavor to add to your observations that, many of them, often side with their mothers, even if it's mother that going wrong.

Meanwhile, in Okoya case, the son said he stole his daddy money and also went ahead to marry lady, the father not approved. So, how has wife caused problem?

Many of these teenagers, having reached teenage stage, they would beginning to behave the way they want, even if such act might be detrimental to their future, and if such teenager happened to come from strict father, who doesn't condone nonsense, fight would begin, .....having gone out and saw that, he is not capable as he taught, and couldn't find his feet after several years of recalcitrant, he resorted to pleading, despite the fact he is begging, he still blackmailing his step mother for the crises, in other words, not genuinely remorseful for his misbehaviour.

This kind of total estrangement between a parent and a child is unAfrican. Good thing he's seeking reconciliation.

Prodigal son has finally returned to his senses.

But if the father was poor, would he have done this?

Why is it that the younger ones are always required to beg for forgiveness in African societies especially Nigeria, even when it is the adult that did the wrong? I don't know what happened exactly. But I am asking cause this right here brought about some thoughts. I wish them healing.

Back to the topic, fourty years is too long for such quarrel.

This makes me remember my late dad, we were not also in good terms after he separated from late mum, sold his house in lagos and moved to Auchi. But when he died we had to leave lagos in the night so we could meet up with the Muslim burial in Edo state

Shade the current wife in control will never allow him. Shade is in control of everything and she is the one taking care of Baba. Whatever she says is what Baba says. Now, for this one to come back as the first son, means he wants to come and take charge and will definitely be in contention with the current "GMD" - Shade Okoya!
You can't just disappear and reappear. Whatever is making you disappear, make sure you succeed and never come back begging. If you have to come back at all, let it be on a red carpet.
