I wanted to put my smart LG tv for sale so as to get a bigger inches tonight,so the potential buyer told me to do the video of the tv by operating it with the remote.

So after doing the video and he saw the tv displayed android on the screen,he said he doesn't have interest again that he wants only smart tv. So the argument started and I told him isn't smart tv and android the same? Since they both can connect to wifi to watch YouTube and Netflix and other o online apps,but he disagreed that he wants only smart tv, without telling me how to spot the difference in case of next time.

So pls experienced tech gurus how do one spot the difference between smart tv and android one, and what make them different?

Andriod is same as smart,
Windows are smart, android are smart, blackberry too has a smart operating system, iphone operating system are smart,symbian are smart, so it depends on the os of the tv

Android is an operating system for some Smart TVs. Not all Smart TVs use android OS.
Original LG Smart TV does not use android OS, they use webOS.
Possibly, the LG Smart TV you have is a counterfeit. When next you want to buy something, do some findings about it. I hope this helps.

Andriod TV is also smart TV, the only problem I see here that your LG TV ought not to come with Android OS. LG has its own operating system not Andriod maybe that's why the buyer backed out.

If you had an LG 'android' tv then you have a fake LG TV.

Sony, TCL, Panasonic, Philips, Sharp, Hisense, Xiaomi, Toshiba (via Vestel), and Haier make android tvs

The others use proprietary os. LG uses webos. Samsung uses tizen

He may just not have wanted to tell you that you have a fake LG TV.

Andriod TV is also smart TV, the only problem I see here that your LG TV ought not to come with Android OS. LG has its own operating system not Andriod maybe that's why the buyer backed out.

Then buy another brand and leave LG alone, LG smarts don't run on android. It's like buying an iPhone running an android IOS.

I mostly don't go near anything LG lately, I don't know why the counterfeit is much more than the original. Probably cos the years it has been selling here in Nigeria. Fr I can't just pin it to a single reason.

LG is a good brand with quality products, their smart TVs run on "WebOS" operating system.

However, when you see LG that has Android OS, it indicates that the product is a copy, not originally produced by LG Corporation.

I am so impressed we have a lot of knowledgeable people on this forum. LG Android TV is counterfeit, and the OP should have known when he was buying it because it's obviously cheaper compared to the original one, also the size written on the carton is not always the exact size.

All Android phones are smart phones

But all smart phones are not Android

Different OS

This analogy is simple, now change it to TV...
