Assuming the way OP reported it is true. You are as ignorant as the other worshippers. They don't know the disctatxe of their religion.

What Islamic sharia says is to safe life first in every situation. Either praying or not, Islamic sharia stipulated you safe life first. You should abandon your prayer to safe life of human being, being Muslim or None Muslim . Even you should abandon your prayer to safe life of Animals.
