There's nothing low or primitive about this, you're just pissed good news are posted and they come from SA..
RandDigital posts the good and the bad about SA, that's what his account's about.. he'll post about crime in SA, politics, a corrupt SA politician arrested, about riots, about infrastructure development, elections etc..
As soons as he posts something good or positive , you start writing think pieces, ranting, its telling
I don't know why I should care about anything 'good' or 'bad' regarding South Africa— that beats me! Pray tell, why do you guys care so much about sharing the happenings in your country with Nigerians? Why is it only you Black South Africans who behave this way? It's so cringe, man! Aren't you getting it? Discuss your 'good' and 'bad' among yourselves— Nigerians certainly don't care, trust me. If you can't do that, then it feels like a primitive competition—a complexity.

This is a Nigerian forum, man—find your mates in your own enclave. Is it that you can only feel validated by associating with Nigerians? Have you ever wondered why your superiors, the White South Africans, don't behave like you do? Ponder over it, man.

Yet, you do care! Here you are, writing Bible scriptures on a South African themed thread.. it simply pains you reading about positive stuff about SA.

In our entire life in Nigeria, there's no where anyone has ever celebrated one complete week of no interruptions since the 80s.

Congrats, they are now approaching Japan. Having achieved 24 hour electricity, all attention should now be given to economic growth. The next bus stop is $1 trillion gdp.

I certainly don't care, man. You all brought yourselves here. Remember, this is a Nigerian forum. Let's discuss who truly cares when you see me on 'Randland' or whatever indigenous forum of yours, bothering you with the 'good' and 'bad' of Nigeria. Do you understand? I bet you can't grasp it—it's a function of complexity. Lol, you must be having an orgasm right now because you have the attention of a Nigerian—me!

You need to go out more ok. Don't use your ghetto area to generalize everywhere in Nigeria.
In my area we use nothing less than 22 hours daily and at times more than 3 weeks of non interrupted power.

We just hope this should at least be the case of everywhere in Nigeria.

Nigeria is a poor nation.

Nigeria has population of about 250M, South African has 60M population or so. South African budget is 4* of Nigeria budget. Youself reason am
SA is NOT the only country with constant electricity. Ghana, Benin, Ivory Coast, etc are all poorer than Nigeria. Nigeria has Africa's richest man

Congratulations to South Africa. Those condemning rand digital for posting on nairaland should be ashamed. On nairaland you are discussing gaza and lsreal when no Nigeria is from either. You are discussing Russia and Ukraine that doesn't concern us. Yet have the temerity to question rand digital.

constant light for who? If you have no clue about South African history, please refrain from commenting and spare us the typical Nigerian white glazing
Constant light for those that have light - which is what Nigeria hasn't managed to achieve

So small Ghana that is getting their supplies from Nigeria is better than these people. I can't believe this and doubt if it is the truth.

Pride always goes before a mighty fall.

Nigerians need to stop this habit of derisively referring to their better organized, more purposeful neighbours as 'small'. There is nothing small about people who have got it together, while their 'big' neighbours stumble about in darkness.

The British Isles are less than half the size of Nigeria - but our official language is English undecided and today we use an anthem composed by one of their people (thank you BAT! undecided).

The 'small' controlling the 'big'.

It is noteworthy that Eskom is a 100% government owned, state owned corporation (SOC) - and it is profitable.

South Africa seems to have put its 'rolling blackout' days behind it.

This is the stupid mindset problem with many of you. You have normalised failure to the point where you now celebrate mediocrity as an achievement.

In your so-called area, you have light for 22 hours "uninterrupted" daily. 22 out of 24 hours, what exactly happens to the remaining two hours? If you are boasting about 22 hours of uninterrupted electricity, you have already admitted that your standard for a functioning power supply is embarrassingly low.

Leave your comfort huts and claves, step outside, and see how functional systems operate in other countries. You do not even need to travel to Europe or America. Visit neighbouring Benin Republic, Ghana, Gambia etc and see what a more reliable electricity supply can look like. People can enjoy months of relatively uninterrupted power, yet here you are celebrating 22 hours as though the government has performed a miracle.

Since when did 22 hours of electricity become an achievement worth bragging about? Electricity is a basic necessity, not a luxury that citizens should applaud their leaders for providing almost consistently.

The problem is not just the poor system. It is the mentality of people who have lived with dysfunction for so long that anything slightly better than terrible suddenly looks excellent.

Stop lowering the standard to accommodate failure. Demand better, expect better, and stop confusing survival with development.
