Just found out and shock that I am hypertitis B positive…I am 34 years old have never been admitted to hospital or done any test accept blood group and genotype. Then I wonder where do I get this from…I was given birth in the village from a very poor family and I am sure I was not vaccinated years ago then I ask my self do I get this from child birth and I use protection when last I had sex with girlfriend. Now I am doing liver function test in which the results is yet to be out and my doctor is telling me I should not be worrying much about it but I am worried. They keep asking me if I take alcohol and I am not a fan of alcohol and have never taken alcohol since I was born. What should I do?

Hepatitis B can only spread through sex, so check all your escapades

you are 100% wrong. It could be gotten from mother to child, using same sharp objects such as clipper, razor etc

I empathize with u, however now that u know then take all necessary steps

I will advise u go to a teaching hospital to see hepatologist.

Mind u, it's not all doctor that knows about hepatitis treatment.

To rule out from mother to child, advise ur siblings to run similar test.

People with hepatitis live their life to the fullest. You need to do regular check up like every six months.

Some of the test include checking ur viral load, liver and some others. Pls take ur visitation serious Cos I have seen what it can do to someone.

Thanks for the advise. I appreciate. I have ask my junior ones to take the test for confirmation if this is coming from my parents or not. My mum died in 2005 when I was a kid would have ask her of her status.
