The All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council has denied that there is a plot to assassinate former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, the Presidential candidate of the Action Democratic Congress (ADC) in the 2027 elections.

Dele Alake, spokesman of the APC Campaign, said this while reacting to an allegation made by Timi Frank, a member of the ADC.

The APC Campaign Council emphasized that any credible threat to life must be taken seriously regardless of political affiliation, calling on Frank to present any evidence in his possession to law enforcement agencies for a prompt investigation

The council categorically denied any involvement by President Bola Tinubu, the Presidency, or the APC in any plot targeting Atiku Abubakar or any other opposition figure.

Rejecting reports that security attached to the former Vice President had been withdrawn, the council affirmed that Atiku remains fully protected by both the Nigeria Police Force and the Department of State Services (DSS).

The statement highlighted that President Tinubu recently directed security agencies to bolster security coverage for all presidential, vice-presidential, governorship, and deputy governorship candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Addressing the political climate, Alake characterized the assassination claims as “typical opposition rabble-rousing” aimed at heating up the polity and drawing international attention through social media.

“Let our political competition be peaceful, lawful, and focused on the big issues that matter to Nigerians, not character assassination or wild, baseless allegations,” the statement read.

The APC PCC reiterated President Tinubu’s long-standing background in opposition politics and called on all candidates, political parties, and supporters to remain factual, responsible, and committed to a peaceful democratic process as campaign activities intensify across the country.

How did Atiku and his minions even get to the fabrication of such a plot?

After it was revealed that Atiku's ex wife received $500,000 from a company tgat later got a fabricated Mambilla power contract, Dino Melaye threatened EFCC not to arrest Atiku. So to Atiku's minions, Atiku cannot answer to law enforcement because he is bigger than the rest of us.

Now they are claiming APC is plotting assassination.

Atiku, ADC is in disarray, your party chairman is sleeping, party secretary seems like he is being forced to be there, von Batten has lost control of the FBI files you paid him $1.2 million to retrieve that he is now begging Tinubu to order FBI to release the files. Atiku, why didn't you just pay the money to Tinubu so he coukd give you the imaginary files? Atiku is in court with a laughable case of Tinubu's NYSC certificate. Atiku has no campaign itinerary.

It points to one thing: Atiku has given up on the 2027 elections. His only hope of ever getting back to Aso Rock since 2007 is blackmail.
