Noah, Eden, Adam And The Animals by Roycemadeit(op): 6:31pm On Oct 20
THE PROBLEM WITH EDEN, ADAM AND THE ANIMALS

Genesis says God brought the animals to Adam, and Adam named them. Every creature got a name. Adam was basically the first man with a clipboard.

“Gajdn.”

“Elont.”

“Giopfe

Let us assume Adam spoke Hebrew. Fine. But the Bible never gives us Adam’s full animal list. Somewhere in heaven, there may be a missing document called: “Adam’s Original Names...”

Then there is Eden. Adam lived among the animals, but Genesis never tells us how many animals were there, where the garden ended, there should have been a border right? or whether animals could leave. Personally, I think that's where we'll find unicorn, griffin and other animals in Harry Potter.

Adam gets expelled. But what about the animals? Did the Elont say, “I’m staying. The rent is free”?

Then Noah’s Canoe arrives. Suddenly animals from everywhere must gather for the flood. But Genesis never explains how the Eden animals connected to the Ark animals, or how they later spread across the world. Personally, I think God confused their looks instead, that's why we have Leopards in Africa and Cougars in America.

That is a lot of travel for creatures that learn to build and paddle a submarine.😂

Then the flood covers the mountains. The waters remain for a long time and then evaporated within two winks. Noah sends out a raven, then a dove. The dove returns with a fresh olive leaf.

That is the real miracle.

Not just surviving the flood, finding a living olive tree afterward. Vegetation doing well after Forty days underwater? That tree needed nothing more than faith even chlorophyll and photosynthesis was subsidized.

And the dove is not the problem. Doves eat seeds, insects too but I think it lost knowledge of what to eat because he ignored insects in the ark but went after a leaf. a leaf from a tree, how did the tree survive? Who photosynthesied it?

Don't read this funny, these stories are a complete history of humanity and animal life, they explain how the biology actually works.

Why does it matter what names Adam gave the animals when today, most of the same animals go by different names in different languages and no chaos has been created by it all? 😒😒

Well, according to evolution, animals from the same taxonomic family share a common ancestor from which they descended. So, all animals may not necessarily mean all of what we have today. Consider that the over 400,000 different species of beetles we have in the world today are all descended from just one common beetle ancestor. Consider also that there are over 330 different monkey species in the world today; however, they are all descended from a common monkey ancestor.😒😒

So, let's not deflect from the real issue here, which is the matter of the importance/or not, of the names of the animals. Why does it matter what names Adam gave the animals when today, most of the same animals go by different names in different languages and no chaos has been created by it all? 😒😒

Genesis presents Adam as naming the animals, while Christians place him within a 6,000-year timeline. Evolution explains today's biodiversity through changes over millions of years.

The contradiction arises when the bible claims Adam named every modern species while you are also using evolution to explain how those species developed.

Many species would have existed long before Adam. Genesis offers no evolutionary timeline to reconcile these claims...

2. The bible never says Adam named every modern species. That assumption is wholly yours! If Adam named the creatures God created, the question is how that account accommodates the biodiversity we see today.

Saying he named only the creatures existing at the time doesn't resolve the issue; it simply leaves the origin of today's species unexplained by Genesis. You cannot claim the Bible explains the origin of all animals and then rely on evolution to fill in what it doesn't explain.

Perhaps, one has to understand what evolution is, before using evolution to justify biblical claims.

You can reconcile Genesis with evolution, but then you're admitting Genesis doesn't fully explain the origin and diversity of animals. One cannot claim the Bible explains it all and then rely on evolution to explain what it leaves out. That reconciliation is your interpretation, not what Genesis actually says.

Why should Genesis need to explain both when the focus of the chapters you got your OP from is on creation?😒😒

By the way, you have yet to answer my question.😒😒

2. Explains all of what? The book talks about the creation of animals and then the naming of those created animals. Where is this requirement that it explain it all coming from? The Book or you? 😒😒

3. I have yet to interpret a single thing here. Merely trying to get at the source of your claims. 😒😒

I'm not saying Genesis must explain everything. I'm saying that if the animals were created as the text describes, and Adam named them, then the account doesn't explain how we got today's biodiversity. You're now limiting the scope of Genesis to creation while using evolution to explain what happened afterward. That's a modern reconciliation, not an explanation supplied by Genesis itself. My point is that the two accounts don't automatically agree simply because you assign them different roles.

MAYBE YOU SHOULD REREAD MY INITIAL POST grin

1. Again, why do you require the accounts to explain "how we got today's biodiversity"?😒😒

2. I am not doing the limiting here. The writer of the book of Genesis literally limits his writing to events that include the creation and then the naming, and not much else. 😒😒

3. The book says nothing of evolution. I also didn't explain Genesis using evolution. I merely pointed out that modern biodiversity, which you seem focused on, is not addressed in the book. 😒😒

You have it all wrong! I am not explaining Genesis. Matter of fact, I don't need to explain Genesis. I simply need to point out to you that your personal delusions... what your @OP desperately attempts to insert between the lines of what is contained in the Book... are just that, your delusions. 😒😒

The Book of Genesis makes no explicit mention of modern biodiversity - by the way, biodiversity results from evolution. So, when you force a discussion on biodiversity, you(not I) introduce evolution as well. I am just asking you to explain why you are so confident in making the claim you have repeatedly made. 😒😒

1. My belief/lack of belief is not what is on trial here. The discussion here is literally about you providing evidence for claims made regarding what is clearly written in the book of Genesis. 😒😒

2. You brought modern biodiversity, aka evolution, into this topic. I simply pointed out that Genesis speaks of the creation(and naming) of animals, and I also gave examples of how evolution is based on the idea that species from the same family share a common ancestor. 😒😒

Genesis says Adam named the animals God created, but we haven't even discovered all animal species today. You brought in evolution to argue that Adam may have named ancestral kinds rather than every modern species. But evolution takes millions of years, while biblical chronology puts Adam roughly 6,000 years ago. That's the contradiction I'm pointing out.

Genesis doesn't mention evolution, so you can't use evolution to explain the diversity of animals and then act as though Genesis already accounted for it.

What questions might you still have?

Genesis says Adam named the animals, and I took that to mean all the animals, including their different species. You brought up common ancestry to argue that Adam didn't necessarily have to name every species we have today.

But Genesis itself doesn't say Adam named ancestral kinds that later evolved into today's species. That's your inference.

And if we're bringing evolution into it, we also have to consider the millions of years involved, which doesn't fit the roughly 6,000-year biblical timeline Christians use.

One can't use evolution to account for the diversity Genesis doesn't address, then act as though there's no tension between the two accounts.

Add up the years of the fictional ancestors mentioned in the Bible, and you’ll arrive at that timeline. If you can’t do the arithmetic, read up on Bishop James Ussher, who calculated creation as 4004 BC.

I wasn’t the one dashing out years to people who may never have existed. I’m merely following the chronology provided by the book supposedly inspired by God. 😂grin

Funny atheist arguing aimlessly with people who don't have the wisdom to silence him!🥱

So you think the God who created Adam from dust and Eve using a rib won't help in reducing the size of all those animals when they enter into the ark?

I wonder how you people think if you truly believe in evolution how then could all the things it teaches you be possible if there are no supernaturals involved?

1. I don't read up gobbledegook. I prefer to focus on facts. There is no way to compute, from what is in fact written in the Book of Genesis, that creation occurred in 4004BC. So, why are you so certain that this person's computation is, in fact, correct despite the book never hinting at that being the case? 😒😒

Where most Bible readers went totally off point is failing to read with deeper reasoning.

God told Adam "

"But as for the tree of the knowledge of good and bad, you must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will certainly die.” Genesis 2:17

Do you notice the highlighted in red?

Now the question is how many days have Adam lived in the garden before the creation of Eve?
Remember that he never named the animals in her presence which means Adam must have spent some days before God created Eve and it's Adam who passed the warning to Eve.

God's word also says a day from God's standpoint is equivalent of one thousand years to humans {2Peter 3:8} and also remember that it's from the day they ate the forbidden fruit that the counting of their days began not from the time they were created since they were never created with a view of dying.

If we have nothing to do with dying would humans think of counting years?

Of course not, it's death that makes us to start counting the days we've spent being alive!

So creation should be much longer that what most Bible readers assume!😟
