When they copy Igbo attire, that's because they know they originated from the great Igbo tribe and not the other way. Igbos are global. 90% of black Americans, Carrebians, Jamaicans, Haitians, Brazilians,.etc has nearly 80% igbo DNA. The era of lies and deceits are over. Most blacks originated from igbo tribe and not the other way round.

Bia.... ppl don't have traceable heritage!
lol we love people giving us info about themselves, we learn everyday. Keep it coming. No one's arguing with it even if you trace your lineage to trees, but even as you know your history others know theirs too. Simple.

Most of those Brazilians, Carrebians, 90% of black Americans and the rest has dominant igbo DNA. The era of lies and unverified Yoruba connections are over. Ancestral DNA is exposing a lot of lîes, Yaribas are not even closer.
Biko nwannem, let them stew in their misery. Allow them to cook al dente yet. Don't give them the satisfaction of further enlightenment. Biko! Ya Gaazie!

Go and do your research on the Luo people of East Africa, then you come back and tell us what you discovered. This is just for starters, since you are stark ignorant. When you're done you come back and I'll give you another assignment, it's good to learn anyway.
You are so shameless

I came across this interesting video of a Swiss man and his Tanzanian bride rocking beautiful Igbo traditional outfits at their wedding in Diani, Kenya. What caught my attention even more was the discussion in the comments, where most Kenyans & Tanzanians linked the growing popularity of Igbo culture in East Africa to the old Nollywood movies many of them grew up watching.

From Isi Agu, traditional wedding regalia and Igbo music to our dances, ceremonies and marriage traditions, Igbo culture is finding admirers far beyond Nigeria's borders.

And this is happening at a time when anti-Nigerian sentiments appear to be gaining ground in some African countries. Yet, somehow, the beauty of our culture continues to speak for itself.

One thing I particularly love about Ndigbo is how many of us react when foreigners embrace our culture. Rather than immediately shouting "Cultural Appropriation", many are genuinely excited to see people from other parts of the world proudly rocking our traditional attire and incorporating our customs into their special occasions.

Personally, I see it as Cultural Appreciation. When a Swiss man and a Tanzanian woman decide that Igbo traditional attire is beautiful enough to wear on their big day in Kenya, that says something about the reach and appeal of our culture.

You don't have to be Igbo to appreciate the beauty of Igbo culture. And when people voluntarily identify with it, that is something worth celebrating.

Kudos to Opalcoast, the flagship Kenyan event planner behind the wedding.

Declared links based on what? Just words? Any Tom, Dick, and Harry can make claims... but without substance, there is nothing but mere words to back up such claims. 😒😒
Just like you, a stranger, are also spluttering words on what's beyond you without any substance. So pick your name, Dick, Tom or Harry. Which one?

You're talking rubbish! Yes, you're talking absolute rubbish. I am Igbo, and there is no credible evidence that the Igbo and the Luo are historically related. The two peoples do not share any established historical affinity. I challenge you to substantiate your claim with verifiable facts. Post a screenshot of an academic publication that supports your argument. You're clearly allowing sentiment rather than historical evidence to guide your reasoning.

You are right, we are different. You don't have an identity to be proud of
Lol! A Yoruba man has no identity? Isn't it funny that this is coming from someone of your background? I won't even stoop so low as to discuss history with you.

Well, if you must know, I'm a proud Yoruba man. I'm very proud of the rich culture and heritage our forefathers bequeathed to us as a people. They expanded their territory from Nigeria to Benin Republic, Togo, Ghana, and beyond. They fought many wars of conquest and never lost any! Here’s the question: what were your own progenitors doing while ours were accomplishing all these amazing feats? We all know what they were doing; it wasn't a pleasant story.

Trust me, man, you are not in any position to talk about identity, especially a befitting one. History is not kind to you; believe it.
