The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has arrested eight suspected members of a one-chance robbery syndicate operating in Abuja.

According to the police, the arrests followed an investigation into the alleged robbery of a woman who boarded a taxi at AYA Roundabout. The operation reportedly led to the recovery of 21 mobile phones and three laptops, including the victim's device.

Police said investigations are ongoing and that the suspects will be charged in court after the process is concluded.

The arrests come amid continuing concerns about the safety of commuters using commercial taxis in Nigeria's capital.

One chance robbers are heartless criminals. They operate without mercy. Pushing people out of a moving vehicles.

They should be kept away from the society through life imprisonment.

I believe thieves should always be disabled to serve as deterrent. Cut their arm or permanently damage their Achilles tendon or ankle ligaments

If its Malaysia or Cambodia, India, Vietnam, etc....they will furnish us with their names, even if still 'suspected', Indian Police will snap photos with them, as long as evidence was fund with them.
But Abuja police, common to name them is a problem. We know dem sha. angry

Arresting them is good ... and making it public ... but names and unblurred photos should also be posted .. photos especially. Maybe it's my neighbour .. or driver .. or family member. Why hide their identity? What happens after we never know ... no follow up .. freed?.. or sentenced? What are the consequences of committing such crimes? What is being done to serve as a deterrent? And we wonder why such crimes are becoming widespread.
