A lot of people were doubting Asiwaju can truly achieve this feat that seems impossible before he became the President The National Assembly shouldn't wait for the rest of the states that have not passed the bill The bill should be transmitted to Asiwaju for him to sign it |

PRESIDENTIAL WORKING GROUP APPLAUDS AS STATE POLICE AMENDMENT CLEARS CONSTITUTIONAL THRESHOLD IN STATE ASSEMBLIES October 23, 2026 on Latest News, Press Releases The Presidential Working Group on the National Policing Bill notes with satisfaction that the Constitution (Sixth Alteration) Bill, 2026, providing for a dual policing system, has been approved by 24 State Houses of Assembly, meeting the constitutional threshold of two-thirds of the 36 states. The Working Group commends the State Houses of Assembly for their decisive action on this reform of national importance and appreciates the National Assembly for passing the amendment in both chambers. In line with Section 9 of the Constitution, the amendment can now be returned to the National Assembly for transmission to Mr President for assent. The approval gives constitutional backing to the policing framework that the Working Group’s draft National Policing Bill, 2026 is designed to implement. The Working Group’s efforts remain on track. The draft Bills are currently undergoing legislative drafting review and validation at the Federal Ministry of Justice and are expected to be returned on or before Friday, 30th October 2026. Thereafter, the Group will give them final consideration before presenting them to Mr President. The Working Group urges all stakeholders to support a smooth transition to a dual policing system that makes Nigerians safer. Only if we will adopt gunlaws like USA. The Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution protects the right of individuals to keep and bear arms for lawful purposes, such as self-defense, and prohibits government infringement. "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." This is a good move but LGA Sheriffs/community corps/individual bounty hunters will address security issues faster. Mobilisation from state capital to hinterlands in some states take about 10hrs(Niger State). That's for transportation alone 😔. Bandits terrorists are taking advantage of remote villages and ungoverned spaces. |

JAGABAN BORGU. The god of Politics. You see how Tinubu told Lagos and Bornu where his deputy Shettima is from? That is a political strategy |

Parachoko:Nothing seems impossible it was your Asiwaju that was dragging his feet.it took the kidnap of the orire ogbomosho school kidnapping before he knew the right thing to do This was what seyi was saying. A right thinking govt can pass it within 6months.send the bill to the houses of assembly as that is what the Law says and pass it for onward signing by the President not dilly dailling and telling states to send this and that which in essence was a waste of time |

Parachoko:This is the result of voting a progressive and core democrat as president. By the time PBAT finishes his second term ( because by His grace his second term is sure) Nigeria will be comparable to USA,in terms of structures and governance. |

To think that Northern Nigeria that is being ravage with insecurity will still be dragging feet to approve state police means a lot are happening in the secret. Their people are being killed daily due to insecurity but they don't want state police ,I salute all SE ,SS, NS assemblies. For thinking progressive. I just hope is not true the handing over notes of Lord Luggard about the Norhern Nigeria...that they are PLAGUE |
| Re: State Police: Full List Of 24 States That Approved Bill by happney65: 5:12pm On Oct 23 |
Image123:Oyo doesnt play politics of bitterness. Oyo has a well funded Amotekun force that Seyi and late Akeredolu established to stem banditry and terrorism in the SW. A PDP and an APC Govornor and has consistently asked for state Police and told Tinubu to do the right thing It took the orire schooling kidnapping in ogbomosho and yoruba teachers being beheaded before tinubu could do state policing after 3years of beating around the bush because he doesnt want to offend the North We know the state that doesnt have a single amotekun force despite being a signatory to its establishment...
