One thing that has caught my attention is how visible APC and Tinubu are across the media space. From jingles on radio and television to newspaper advertisements, online platforms, and social media, the messaging is difficult to ignore.

Meanwhile, a lot of the political conversation around other parties seems to revolve around verbal exchanges, criticism, counterattacks, and banter on Twitter, in the news, and across other media platforms.

And this is where marketing becomes an interesting subject.

If you understand advertising, you will know that visibility, repetition, positioning, and brand recall matter.

You don't necessarily have to convince everyone in one advertisement. Sometimes, the objective is simply to ensure that whenever people think about a particular subject, your name is already on their minds.

That is the power of consistent media presence.

When people repeatedly see a candidate's name, hear campaign jingles, encounter campaign messages, and notice the candidate being discussed across different platforms, it can strengthen familiarity and recognition. This is a well-known principle in marketing.

However, visibility alone does not guarantee votes or electoral victory. Voters also consider the economy, security, governance, personal experiences, party structures, and the credibility of competing candidates.

My observation is simple: political parties should pay attention not only to what they say about their opponents but also to how effectively they communicate their own message.

Because in politics, as in business, you can have a great product and still struggle if nobody hears your message.

The question is: Are political parties competing to win arguments in the media, or are they competing to win the attention and trust of voters?
