I came across the disturbing thread "FG Confirms Ebola Case In FCT, Identifies 44 Contacts" featured in the home page of this website, I like so many others who are critical of Nigeria are not surprised but only worried over the timing of this.... In July 2014, an American, Patrick Sawyer who was infected with Ebola, flew from Liberia to Nigeria's most populous city of Lagos. We all can attest to the swift action that was taken by a better government under the leadership of President Jonathan to curtail the outbreak which cost so many lives in the process especially the first responders. Now in 2026, with election few months away, Nigeria under the leadership of a desperate bad president of a bad unpopular government that have demonstrated severally not to care about the plight of its citizens, how will such a bad government, handle an Ebola outbreak? It was reported that the victim was a lady who flew in to Abuja from Uganda, one will ask why was Nigerian government knowing fully well that Uganda and some other key African countries that are potential hot zones didn't suspend flights from these countries? If truly the news is true and there are already 44 potential carriers of a deadly disease, will a government this incompetent, evil and deceptive, masters of propaganda that's bent on ensuring it's victory next year, be trusted to do anything about this crisis if it will favor those in power? Why won't they weaponize, milk the Ebola fear to their political advantage? I've consistently told Nigerians that it will be stupid of anyone to think that Tinubu will grant them a fair electoral process and atmosphere to remove him from power next year..... This Ebola case, established in Abuja will glaringly find it's way to Lagos before the political propaganda script unravels that will scare Nigerians. Will Atiku Abubakar who lives in Dubai or Peter Obi be willing to campaign if these Ebola cases continue to rise? Won't Atiku return back to Dubai and Obi escape to UK? No one will be spared from the devastating effects of an Ebola outbreak in Nigeria, no one will be spared from the political desperation of a bad unpopular government that is bent on retaining power if the opportunity to ensure nationwide voter apathy through fear presents itself... This is why I still stand by the notion that Nigerians who truly desire good governance and want an end to this APC government must unite and be ready for a revolution between now and next year...... A revolution that will not only remove the government but will put an end to the 1999 military constitution to allow for referendum that will guarantee freedom of any region to leave Nigeria or dissolve Nigeria totally.... Tinubu and this government cannot be removed through the 2027 election he controls, all independent government agencies have already been compromised.... If after consideration and all rigging options like vote buying fails, Ebola is here for Bola and his desperate bad government..... Nigerians need to rise up now and demand for an end to this government..... |

Latest news reports indicate that Kenya outbreak cases have risen to nine.... https://saharareporters.com/2026/10/21/ghana-tightens-airport-screening-ebola-surveillance-after-confirmed-case-nigeria While Tinubu's government continue to conceal and downplay events, proactive neighboring countries like Ghana are already on high alert.... |

Some of you have abused the word opposition by just attacking government even when it's not necessary. This is not politics any longer but witch hunting |

Can’t you see that the government you are supporting is not ready to be transparent with you even over a serious national health issue such as Ebola? Ask yourself why has the government refused to disclose the name of the lady or even the Abuja hospital which they claim she was admitted into for several days…. In a serious country, the identity of the victim and name of hospital would’ve been disclosed by now, with follow up of a total shutdown of the said hospital and quarantine of key medical personnels. I can imagine that several other people unknown to them, are trooping into the said Abuja private hospital and even meeting with health professionals who may have attended to the Ebola patient as we speak. IMHO, most times in Nigeria, until it is too late then the truth is revealed…. Self-deceit, concealment, deception and lies have always been a big Nigerian problem that permeates all national issues down to the very foundation of Nigeria’s existence as a country…. helinues: |

No matter how you may try to twist this issue, Tinubu stands to gain politically in the event of an Ebola outbreak in Nigeria at this time because no matter how the opposition may try to criticize his handling of the issue, huge voter apathy out of fear will definitely influence the election outcome if the presidential election holds. An outright cancelation or indefinite suspension of the upcoming election over national health emergency only guarantees he holds on to power beyond January 2027..... helinues: |

truthera:You are the one given excuse on behalf of the government as the Ebola case hasn't even gotten to that extent in Nigeria. Should you opposition even be playing politics with something like this? |

truthera:The 1964 constitutional crisis arose after Zik refused to innugurate the new coalition govt that had won the polls. Zik had claimed "widespread rigging" and violence in Western Nigeria for rejecting the outcome of the election which had birthed a new coalition govt reached by the NPC , NNDP(a faction of the AG headed by Akintola) and the Niger Delta Congress (seeking to seccede from Eastern Nigeria). The NPC-NCNC alliance that formed the first federal govt at independence had become irreconcilable owing to several shenanigans by Zik which space and time will not allow me to note here. So Zik went into that election with a weakened AG who did not have the blessings of Awo who at that time was incarcerated on treason charges. Zik's weak coalition UPGA stood no chance winning the 1964 elections and sought every means as President to undermine the electoral outcome by refusing on flimsy grounds not to swear in the new coalition govt. Zik even went as far as sacking the PM Balewa and his entire cabinet. Balewa fired back and sacked Zik for abdicating his responsibility to swear in the new govt. Zik will later claim that the SE will be marginalized in the new govt and insisted on fresh elections. It's at this time one Colonel Ojukwu with his minion Victor Banjo approached Col Gowon to overthrow the govt and instal Zik as sole civilian dictator. Gowon refused and reported the matter to the then British Major General of the Army. Zik then forced Balewa to allow him appoint the Head of the Nigerian army as one of many other concessions to swear in the new govt and to remain in his position as President till 1968. The rest is history. We are seeing this cry of rigging being thrown around by the Obidient crowd today in lieu of an inevitable defeat at the scheduled polls coming up next year. They have inundated our cyberspace with conspiracy theories of INEC deploying AI technology to manipulate the result coalition without providing a shred of evidence on how that is going to be possible when voting is still done manually and results compiled at the polls by same manual counting. They have threatened Youth Corpers that would be deployed for the elections telling them to "sign their death warrants". They have began a campaign to insult and label supporters of the incumbent and have been going about filming themselves harassing anyone wearing branded cloths of the President campaign slogans. They have been pulling down billboards with the President and cheering on when videos emerge of such . They have also not spared INEC and the Judiciary in their terrorist threats. From all indications, the Obidient and their packaged fraud of a candidate know they don't stand a chance. They are going into this election to cause as much disaffection , noise and ruckus all to have the final results annulled. I hope they will be sensible enough to keep their post election tantrums (which they have promised to carry out) to their SE region. |

That is why a revolution is inevitable.... in my opinion, Nigerians can't remove this government through an election that Tinubu controls unless he is forced out next year..... helinues: |

You are a Tinubu APC supporter so I am not surprised over your comments here…. You speak as if you are not aware of the current situation of various independent government agencies including the judiciary that are now under Tinubu’s influence and control….. helinues: |

Didn’t you read my comment? Nigeria has no independent government agencies or arm left…. IMHO, Tinubu controls all arms of government including the judiciary…. helinues: |

Your question is irrelevant because you know the truth and yet choose to support your oppressors for crumbs…. The fact remains that you are supporting a bad government that has done nothing extraordinary to help but to inflict economic pain and sorrow to a large number of people…. helinues: |

That’s okay but stop pretending, no sensible person should expect a free and fair election from a crooked politician like Tinubu and his terribly corrupt government especially under these circumstances…. helinues: |

truthera:Then tell your candidate to withdraw from the election race as the election won't be credible, also advise your colleagues to stop disrespecting others for election that's concluded |
