Special shoutout to Sanwo-olu for retaining the history and legacy of the cane village.

God bless him, me, Lagos and Nigeria 😊

This design doesn’t make sense.

Since there is a pedestrian walkway, just encase only the pedestrian walkway with the design, like a canopy. So it provides both shade for pedestrians and aesthetic/cultural components.

Also, because it’s wasn’t part of the original design, you run the risk of objects falling on motorists during strong storms and winds if not properly attached.

How would you say Lagos state don't have road and you cover 300km daily hmm. This point shows you are an evil person in Lagos state, you hate the state and you can't go back to your state. How many kilometers of roads achieved by sanwo olu vs your state governor wicked people. How much are you paying for the 300km of roads you covered daily how much? Using free roads and bridges and you still complain.
u dey mind the ignoramus,I'm guessing he's not even in Lagos

The annoying part of this project will be that they toll traffic on it or that it took him his whole tenure to build
Must everything be free for you, and are you expecting a monumental project like this to be built in one day?

And what great project have you ever embarked upon and bring successfully to completion in your lifetime, except to waste your time castigating other people's significant achievements.

This reninds me of comments from your likes after Dangote commissioned it refinery but today same you want Dangote to refine crude for you for free.

Curious345:
It's a foot bridge . Not a single car has transited on it since it's commissioning . About a year ago

Comments from obi supporters on Lagos. We know their agenda n they'll never succeed. They never did under Azikwere n will never under Tinubu.

Seriously!
Why has hate gone so deep in the heart of men?
Like I always say I'm not a fan of this present government, but when you see a good thing, you naturally applaud it.

Seeing people's comment up there is so sickening

I like this your idea but then things are always easier said than done. I have thought of this idea several times, not just for this bridge but also for other infrastructures like bus stops etc.

It is a good idea to cover up the place with aesthetic designs to provide shades from the sun etc. But this will also come with other problem where all the migrant with no destinations turn the place to sleeping quarters and crime blind spots. If you decides to hire people to man the place, that will also create financial issues meaning more money to be spent when the current civil servants are crying for increased wages.

Someone once narrate her experience with using a public toilet at Oshodi. She said she was directed to the toilet when she needed to urinate. On getting there, she saw so many tough looking guys who had turned the place to a joint. She had to turn back to avoid been robed or raped.

Sometimes, a simple fix creates more problem that needs a fix too.

It looks good, but it would have been more realistic if it's designed in such a way below

OPEBI LINK BRIDGE UPDATE 🚧 🚧

There is nothing historic about this useless design. I have lived in that area for decades, and all this project has done is turn a once-quiet neighbourhood into a noisy, traffic-congested location.

There was no need for the bridge in the first place. The original plan, without a bridge from Mende, was meant to improve traffic management. Opebi used to be an escape route from the traffic on Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way, but with this development, we are likely to see more traffic spilling into Allen and Toyin going forward.

I see 'Yoruba drum' inspiration in the design. That's thoughtful of the designers. The last thing we needed was another overdone, culturally irrelevant european-style design.
Yeah! It's actually commendable.

Pointius Pilate, Lagos is drowning in dirt and garbage. What are you doing about it?
Re: Ongoing Historic Architectural Design On Opebi Link Bridge, Iya-Alaro, Lagos by Focusmind: 10:57am On Oct 26
Fantastic projects all around Lagos but the menace of Agberos and street urchins is making a mess of the whole thing

Just go to Oshodi bus interchange and see how the magnificent multimillion dollar edifice put up by Ambode is wasting.

The whole structure is just a shadow of it former self, with agberos, wheelbarrow pushers, street urchins and thieves having a field day

Every where is in a stench, with urine and human shits everywhere.

Human capital development remains the best form of any development.

If you first develop physical infrastructure before humans, the undeveloped and archaic humans would make a mess of the beautiful structures you have put

Develop humans first before physical development, the developed humans would improved further the physical development to suit the improved taste.
