What then do you say about Manchester United? Who's destroying the club?

My point is every club will at a point experience dip in there results and performances.

Re: NPFL Discussion Thread by guobe: 2:38pm On Oct 26
It was a roller coaster week full of alot of mixed fortunes for clubs in the league.
Nigertornadoes got a shock one nil win away to Abia Warriors while Shooting stars and Ikorodu City played out an entertaining 2 all draw in Lagos.
Enyimba continue to battle the drop as they lost away at Nasarawa United while my darling club Bendel insurance fc scattered the unbeaten run of Rivers united in a match I was present as it lived up to expectations.
Nice week all round though.

Matchday 10 done and dusted. Shooting stars finally pick up their first away point of the season. Rivers United finally record their 1st loss of the season. Enyimba and Inter Lagos woes continue. Oh well!

Ikorodu City 2 - 2 Shooting Stars
Abia Warriors 0 - 1 Niger Tornadoes

Match between Ranchers Bees and Doma United got postponed because of campaign rally. Sporting Lagos vs Rangers postponed because of Rangers' continental match. Rivers United are currently place holders at the summit of the table, Rangers will reclaim the position once they play their outstanding matches
Many thanks dear mod, for keeping up the tempo with our national league on FP weekly and sometimes more than once a week.

Kindly permit me to also point out the AWAY win of Niger Tornadoes against Abia Warriors, for the benefit of the naysayers who like to diss our national league. Unlike the leagues of neocolonialists, we don't have consistent investment in government owned clubs, whose fortunes depend on the incumbent governor's disposition to the game. Privately owned clubs are also not for profit for the most part. They were more for PR image of the proprietors. Thankfully, we have a handful of private, FOR PROFIT clubs now, but the greediness of the owners has made them not to be consistent also, (eg Remo Stars?)

While I am happy that my HOME club finally picked up a point on the road, I am dissatisfied with our inability to maintain our 2 goal lead for a victory. especially since Lagos is our backyard and not away away per se. Victory against those Ikorodu boys would have been a great one for bragging rights. cheesy

The mighty has fallen . Is a shame Enyimba the only Nigerian club with champions league is going to relegation this season with their abysmal results .

I'm glad it was televised because the often ignorant retort of "home advantage" would be ringing about if it was only a matter of Livescore reporting.

I believe that televised games will go a long way in first restoring confidence in the league, that will in turn bring investors

It may have to do with Kanu’s oppressive style and wicked mismanagement of the players, which does not reflect his own experience abroad.

anonimi:
How can Kanu be this cruel and evil despite his own exposure to global football in the developed world huh

I fail to understand.

Damning reports have emerged regarding Enyimba FC, led by Kanu Nwankwo, as a player reportedly injured during training has been asked to cover the cost of his surgery.

Enyimba FC, in the two years under Kanu Nwankwo, has appeared to become an unrecognisable version of the club

Lack of quality attackers. The few good ones get poached by North African or small European clubs willing to offer them more than 10 times what they're earning in their clubs. The replacements are not as clinical or sharp as the ones that left.
