Obi & NDC: Forget Your Character Sermon, Tell Us HOW You Will Protect Our Votes by vowiski(op): 11:32am On Oct 26
Everybody knows Peter Obi’s character. Humble, frugal, no stories. We know! We have heard it since 2022. But character no be strategy. I no dey ask NDC “who is Obi?” I dey ask “how una go protect the votes?”

Because make we no deceive ourselves, na that thing break people’s spirit for 2023. People came out, stood under sun, queued for hours, and then the IReV drama happened. Even a former INEC commissioner said the 2023 trust crisis came from the result transmission to IReV. The challenge that shattered public trust in 2023 arose during the transmission of presidential results to the IReV portal. Many people no wan repeat that experience. That is why the “come out and vote” slogan dey sound empty now.

And the law wey wan protect us? The Senate first rejected making electronic transmission mandatory, then public pressure forced a rethink, and Tinubu signed the Electoral Act 2026 on February 18, 2026. Still, some experts say Section 60(3) effectively weakens mandatory electronic transmission. So if the law itself get loophole, wetin be NDC’s plan B?

So these are the questions Obi and NDC must answer, and no more “my elder brother” talk:

Polling unit agents: How many will you deploy, who will pay them, and how will you stop them from being bought on election day?

Result tracking: Who will photograph every EC8A, upload it, and stop the collation-centre magic?

Legal team: Will lawyers be waiting at the collation centres before the election, or will we wait till after to run to court?

Thugs and BVAS: What happens when BVAS “fails” in our strongholds or thugs scatter polling units?

Plan B: If INEC server “glitches” again, what is the immediate response? Press conference? Mass action? Or another national TV cry?

Let me say it plain: you cannot behave like a lamb among hyenas. You will be eaten for lunch! The people on the other side no dey play by the rules. If we dey bring “decency” to a knife fight, we are only reading speeches to people already planning to snatch ballot boxes.

Nobody is saying Obi must become a thug. We are saying be ruggedly prepared. Show us the war room. Show us the structure. Show us the money for agents. A leader we can follow into battle must look like he has seen the battlefield before.

Until then, tell me: why should my cousin spend his last transport money to go and vote, if nobody can explain how that vote will be counted and protected?

Obi and NDC, the ball is in your court. Rhetoric no be strategy.

The question is are Peter Obi's supporters planning to rig the election? They have been the one shouting about rigging including the 2023 election while in reality South East was the most rigged region in the election.

Apc can't be planning of rigging and still have 32 governors on their side. You can see Wike only promising to deliver both Rivers state and FCT for president Tinubu with aggressive consultation

with this your write up it's obvious u started following politics in 2022/2023.

If by now u don't know there are 2 major criterias an aspirant must meet before becoming president then it's late already.

Criteria 1.... majority vote

Just last week an obidient influencer was saying it that he went to about 10 northern states n didn't see any peter obi sign board

Sarki an influencer on x also said it that he went around many northern states n couldn't find obi signboard or anything depicting obi.

How do u obidients plan to get votes there?

If u are banking on kwankwanso then u are mistaken cos even he himself as a presidential aspirant with his full cabinet then only won in Kano, so tell me how he will pull stunts now that he's a deputy n all his comrades are gone.

Do u think only southern vote will give obi majority vote?

Criteria 2......25% in 24 states

With virtually no presence in about 12-15 northern states, how will obi get 25% in those northern states?

Don't even forget that in 2023 when LP momentum was high, he didn't get 25% in 24 but only got it in 16 states.

So leave rigging talk for now,

How will obi get majority vote?
How will he get 25% in 24 states?

Obi is only on a mission to make sure votes are divided in Tinubu's favor. He never told you that he is contesting to win

Sometimes, you can indirectly work for him by balkanising your votes just to prove a meaningless point that was already proven in 2023. The reason the Church is not as loud as they were in supporting Obi in 2023 is because they have seen the futility of doing the same thing and expecting a different result. Sometimes, in order to use power for good, you need to play the right politics to gain power first. Saying that Obi is already a rich man and does not care how 2027 goes is the most demoralising statement ever. Neither Atiku nor Tinubu are poor men but many poor Nigerians are looking up to the opposition to rescue them from Tinubu.

Bishop Onaiyekan's recent statement about the need for the opposition to close ranks is clear to the discerning. We all know Obi is his most preferred choice but he is not naïve to ignore the data. Numbers do not lie.

Can you hear yourself?

Obi Was massively rigged out in 2023, I don't need to start explaning, those in the seat of Power know this, that's why they did everything to take him out of the ballot.

If he lost, do you think the ruling party will be wasting time on him?

Use your head!
