Francis Duru mannn

Being a proper "Nollywood Head", for the longest time possible and he was a part of an era of Nollywood, i hold so dear.

The sheer number of our, yester years stars, that have passed on, in the last couple of years mann 😔.

Rest easy King 🕊️😔
First introduced to him in Rattlesnake. Too young to even understand the plot but we'd know him by Ahanna, the name of his character in Rattlesnake, for a while before learning his actual name.
Definitely shocking news cos I don't think I ever heard he was having health issues.
Rest in peace, king.

My movie rate is sinking back to 2019 abysmal levels cos I don't even have a window for when I'll watch this and Brand New Day.

Guy no be only you oo. Same here. I couldn't register a single movie for last month.
I've watched like 7 different series of more this month, completing half and I na just one movie I don watch the entire month despite costing significantly less time.

Funny thing is I've downloaded both movies when they released. 🤦🏽‍♂️

Anime sef I've been seriously lagging this year. Only watched the JJK, Dodohedoro and Hell's Paradise earlier this year. Since then nothing. But I've been itching for some anime this month, just having trouble deciding which ones. But November sha, I gats commit to anime. I need a breath of fresh air from what I've been consuming these last 3 months.

Make I first clear my August - October series backlog small.

Nothing much dey this season unless you've been following the shows that dropped sequels.
You don watch Sakamoto Days?

Yeah, I watched season 1 first 3 episodes but later dropped it last year. I guess action anime with gunfights ain't really my thing. Dumped a similar one a year or so ago involving ninjas from dült_swim.

I'll go with Ranma ½ and Cyberpunk Edgerunners from next month.

Anyways I got these ones below loaded up for Nov/Dec.

DC keeps breaking new ground and leading the way. cool

This would most likely beat the most successful body horror film of all time — The Substance. And makes a rare A- for horrors, even the most niche of all, body-horror for that matter.

Well, I never doubted my Idolo for once, Mike Flanagan. A shame he couldn't direct it himself but the confidence I had in James Watkins after watching his film, really happy he delivered.

Solid list. Absolutely enjoyed Witch Hat Atelier and Daemons. Have only heard wonderful things about Nippon Sangoku and plan to watch it at some point.

Why is it that no one has attempted to make a Contra movie? The video game has zero storyline; muscled heroes shooting guns and defeating aliens and dictators. It is fertile ground for interpretation by any innovative director. There should be a big enough fanbase of retro gamers looking to scratch a nostalgia itch.

The Furious

Very weak storyline (terrible, actually) but the fight scenes are simply unbelievable. Top notch!!

Tony (2026)

You are always one crazy decision away from changing your entire life.

Forget for a second that this is an Anthony Bourdain biopic or a cooking flick. You don't even need any prerequisites to enjoy this.

In some ways, an extension of "The Holdovers (2023)", this is a feel-good movie about hitting rock bottom and finding your way back. There isn't any grand scene or deep dive you'd expect from a biopic. In fact, if you had no idea who Anthony Bourdain was before watching this movie, it does little to change that.

I invested in Dominic Sessa stocks way back, and it's paying off. He embodies Bourdain in such a charming way that it makes me think that, all things being equal, his rise in Hollywood is inevitable. Antonio Banderas, as the wise old head and supporting actor, is why the entire thing works. Brilliant performance.

It's not quite near all the praises it's received, i mean it isn't going to blow you away, but it's a good movie that will appeal to many. If you like The Holdovers (2023), then this is right in your wheelhouse.

7/10

At least it's not the usual trope of "Prince" and all what not they associate with Nigerian, when they want to satirize us, but it's cringe still.

I keep saying it, no one gets Nigerian humour like "Nigerians"!...I have seen so many comics from outside here try it, and fail woefully, even comics of African descent.

We are such a unique people, such a shame we are ruled by airheads and the enitre place is a hellhole.

The whole Kylian Mbappé dictator affair has shown me just how strong, China, influences affairs of the west. Mannn Imagine, one of the greatest talent to have ever touch the sport, what would normally be an harmless joke, and these Mfs are so incensed, they cut ties with him, Real Madrid and even La Liga! 😭😭.

I see why Hollywood don't joke with the Chinese Box Market. They have a different marketing strategy for their market, any tiny mistake, and your movie suffers there.

Silly as it all is, it all boils than to money, not that the west really respects the Chinese culture all that much, and it just goes to show how hyper capitalist, our world is, currently.

Anyway, glad, China doesn't wield World Power, the west will never allow it, because communism looks like hellfire fgss 😭😭
