Ok Great100000:Businessday NG Abosede Ayeni, Tantalizers Ayeni is the founder of Tantalizers Plc, one of Nigeria’s early home-grown quick-service restaurant brands. Before going into food, she worked at Lever Brothers Nigeria and Senkay Nigeria. She started Tantalizers in 1997, building a brand that brought African menus into the QSR format. The company also runs outdoor and industrial catering, and earns revenue from both company-owned and franchised outlets. Tantalizers listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange in 2008, which set it apart in a sector dominated by private operators. The listing brought public-market scrutiny, and the company has had to contend with tougher competition and years of financial pressure. In 2024 it got a new majority shareholder, Food Specialties, and a reconstituted board. It has since reported a return to profit for the 2025 financial year.

Running a food retail business in Nigeria is not an easy task, if you don't have very tight internal controls your employees will steal you blind thereby leading to a collapse of the business ![]() |

BigYash:Were u empowered by Remi Tinubu to fry akara, which is her replacement for the husband’s failure to create 50 million jobs promised since 2023? How would he get the trillion dollar economy without jobs that add significant value? How would they generate revenue from akara sellers to buy luxury things for themselves and repay our debts that have yielded nothing for the suffering masses? |

ndi deveropers of Lagos are missing on the list…….they claim to have deveroped Lagos and one can’t help but wonder, what exactly did they develop? Yorubas are still the biggest investors and developers of Lagos yorubaland, controlling the formal sector eg, manufacturing, real estate, banking, insurance, construction, fintech, media, entertainment etc. this are the sectors that pay huge taxes to the govt and create employment for the people and not some 2*2 shops scattered everywhere and defacing the city of Lagos……indeed Yoruba lagba ![]() |
