@andrew, we listing tribes not ethnic group. Yoruba is a tribe,ijebu etc are ethnic groups under yoruba |

Ijebu, Ngwa, Owerri, Umuahia, Ijesha, Ekiti, Nnewi etc all come under Yoruba and Igbo ethnic groups. @the op, can you not use tribe for our nations. |

Why are you guys too quick to insult someone. Read through what he wrote and you will understand that he is correcting op on the mix up of tribes and ethnic group. Eg classifying Etche (Rivers state LGA) and Egbema (Imo / Rivers state LGA) that are tribes alongside with Igbo and Yoruba. But Op I can't see my tribe "ORLU" victor1464:  |

somegirl1:Etche speaks an Igbo dialect, Khana and Gokana are indeed Ogoni, but Degema isn't Kalabari and so not Ijaw. Degema LGA has kalabari towns in it, but Degema proper, is an ethnic group of it's own, their language is not even ijoid, it's an Edoid language. |

My tribe is Chip, no.80 on the list. The official name of the tribe is Miship but it's popularly known as Chip. BTW this list is not complete, there are over 500 tribes in Nigeria. My mum's tribe is Mupun also found in Plateau State. |
