dannyfillz: What's the course all about,xplain in fullLibrary and Information science(LIS) is an intellectual course studies in higher institutions, be it polytechnics or universities. The course has to do with collection and organization of all the ten body of knowledge in the world. The course is encyclopaedic in nature, because it has to do with cataloguing and classification of the whole human knowledge. |

Thanks nonsom,God bless you..Exactly what i need at this time.I applied to the univeristy of ibadan in the last utme and i scored 228.i choose the univeristy of ibadan as my first choice for library and information science.My question is this,In as much as i would love to study this course,how tedious is it.Hope it does not have too much calculations as am not too cut out for much calculations...lol..lol..And aslo,Is it only Libraries we can work after Graduation or elsewhere? Lets talk bro..Thanks I appreciate.. |

Information is power, any establishment requires information to grow, even our country needs information. This course has to do with human knowledge and information need to mankind. promisechild: please is LIS a science course or social scienceIts is more of a social science course but emphasis is on ICT these days as prospective librarian and information scientist cannot perform well if they are not IT inclined. Th course can either be Bsc. Bsc. Ed, B.Tech or BLIS depending on the school. In the university of Ilorin it is BSc. Feel free to study the course and you are going to enjoy it. |

I am a proud final year student of library and information science,at first i didn't know what the course was all about but now i don't think i would have found happiness in any other department.
