Prof. BSC Uzochukwu , a professor of health policy and community medicine at the College of Medicine, University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus has been elected into the Global Board of Health Systems Global- the first international membership organization fully dedicated to promoting health systems research and knowledge translation. He is the first Nigerian to be elected into the Board.

The news of Professor BSC Uzochukwu's election into the prestigious organization was made public in Cape Town few days ago at the ongoing 3rd Global Symposium on Health Systems Research. Interestingly, Prof Uzochukwu delivered his inaugural lecture as a Professor at University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus on the 25th of September, 2014- just few days before he flew into South Africa.


Professor Uzochukwu is prominent member of African Health Economics and Policy Association, and serves as co-research coordinator of Nigeria's Health Policy Research Group, and has published widely in internationally-reputable peer-reviewed journals in areas such as health policy and management, public health disease programme implementation and evaluation, social determinants of health, health financing, governance for health, among others. He provides technical consultancy support to international organizations like WHO, UNICEF, World Bank, the European Union, among others.
