DebateNigeria:What is the a lot has Akpabio done for Akwa Ibom State? I get pissed when I see "he has done alot" "he tried".. Lets be factual and document his achievement in office, I will show you that he is a celebrated mediocre that deserved to be tied to the stakes and shot...The same way Attah scammed the people of Akwa Ibom State. His only problem is that of maybeYou can get your alcoholic red wine in Enugu or Owerre. Kano is under sharia and for kano people(who are comfortable with it), it was Sharia state even when Shekarau was there. If you have a problem you should go back to sopmewhere more befitting as you can't expect the indigens to make laws that favors you and disfavor them. IT IS THEIR STATE AND THEIR BUSINESS!!! Calling Kwankwaso a religious fanatic is the BIGGEST lie in history. If you must know, this man does not SPEND a PENNY on Pilgrimage Sponsorship whether Christian or Muslim, he has NEVER been a fundamentalist nor fanatic. Get your fact right... As for Aregbesola, which Salary is he owing? which thug did he sponsor? and which religious crisis did he promote? you have nothing to criticise him, all you listed are lame BTW: USA Allies Saudi, Middle Eastern States etc are under Sharia and the US is still working closely with them. RESPECT people's decision |

Kwankwaso is an undiluted religious bigot. Below is an excerpt from an article about sabongari: Yes, in Sabon Gari, every house and businesses provide their own water, power, while the roads and drainage system remain in dire need of repair. The abandoned nature of the road and drainage is such that the town floods when it rains. The father who together with his son helped this reporter locate his hotel, said, “About 90 per cent, if not more, of the storey buildings you will find in Sabon Gari belongs to the Igbo’s. Most of the Yoruba’s who once lived here have sold their properties to the Igbo’s.” He said it was due to this that, “Governor Kwankwaso told the Igbo’s to go back to the East; that he would not develop Sabon Gari. That is why the place is like this.” Sulaiman who is one of the remaining few locals in Sabon Gari said that, “I am from Kano state and to be frank with you, the government has abandoned those staying in Sabon Gari. For over three decades, there has been no development in Sabon Gari. The town is dirty, no light or water and that is not to mention the killings that go on almost every day.” According to Edward, “Something you should understand is that in the life of any administration, there is only little that a government can do.” When asked if he felt that the present administration under Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso was biased, Edward said: “Even though I refuse to accept that there is a government conspiracy to keep Sabon Gari underdeveloped, one thing I agree is that governor Kwankwaso is biased in his leadership. I will give you some instances.” According to Edward, “During former governor Shekarau’s administration, he had a way of running an inclusive government and making sure that all the region and religion in Kano were treated fairly. There were non-indigenes working in the civil service and in the medical and teaching professions.” Edward claims that “Kwankwaso came in and dismantled it because of pressure from the Hausa majority in the state.” “For the medical professionals, there are not enough indigenous doctors in Kano or the north as a whole. The few indigenous doctors naturally enjoy the benefit of pensions and gratuities but that does not apply to doctors who originated from other states, especially from the South. “Now, during the time of Shekarau, to keep the doctors from the Southern part of the country, aside their salary, since they were not being paid pensions and gratuities, the governor started paying them 20 per cent of their basic salary every month. But since Kwankwaso came into government three and a half years ago, he has not paid the doctors the agreed 20 per cent basic salary every month. “As we speak, most if not all the doctors from the South that are in the majority in the state are on the verge of leaving Kano. Some have left already. Funny thing is that this is the same governor that is rumoured to be having a presidential ambition. How can such a man who favours one religion and people above another want to rule Nigeria?” www.thisdaylive.com/articles/inside-kano-s-neglected-community/185278/ https://www.nairaland.com/1841779/inside-kanos-neglected-community |

Knew the writer was going to make the article be all about the Igbos again... For the sake of all that is, when will these guys -- they know themselves (yes, the pen warriors!)-- drop this we-are-being-targeted mentality? The civil war ended over 40 years ago. Most of those who fought in dead (or dying). There's no way we'll move forward if we don't move forward. |

Barcanista stop talking trash If you want to be a Nigerian President you must prove to carry all ethnic nations. Unknown to Kwankwaso, if power must return to the North, it is the non indigenes living in Kano that will convince other Nigerians that he is a true national leader Question for you What are the non indigenes saying concerning him when it comes to national politics. This is the same mistake Buhari made and is paying dearly for it. |

naijaking1:I read the points. Show me an environment where some areas aren't more developed than others? These patterns repeat themselves over and over again everywhere. You don't have to go only short of labelling a leader a tribalist just because you want to make a point, when the case under focus is not an exception. And why bring Lag and GMD into it? Are they now part of Kano? |

@barcanista. I have been following you for a long time now and has discovered that from thread to thread, topic to topic, you move around spreading so much negative energy trying to defend the indefensible. Check out this thread for instance, it was you who first cursed and swore. And you, like a lion with a bullet lodged in its brain, you ferociously take on anyone with a contrary opinion. You curse and swear so much in your posts that I imagine what you look like in the real world. You strike me tho as one who is a bit knowledgeable, but you don't put it to positive use here. @topic, somebody here challenged you with the flip of a coin to produce proof that Sabo is not marginalized, you could not and you cleverly ignored him and moved over to your next victim. Kwakwanso is a strong personality without a national appeal. Gmb on the other side was attractive until the quest for power led him neck deep into bigotry. He has lost his appeal long time. Now, Gej didn't have national appeal too, but his election was a much needed political solution to a political problem. He is obviously learning on the job. He can be better if we support him and put away our differences. If Nigeria is better, irrespective of tribe or party, its our collective bounty. Back to barcanista, I am waitin to see how you would throw away this message with the messenger. But please mate, cast me out from the window on 16th floor and let my brains be used as tar if you will, but ponder seriously over the issues raised here on your personality. Tnk me later! Ciao! |

barcanista:So far, you have not been able to give me reasons why Aregbesola is listed amongst the best 2 governors. Let's not whip up sentiments, I am not a party man..... I am one of those who believe that APC +PDP= Same.... Akpabio tried as governor, mostly in terms of capital projects and infrastructure which I believe is the foundation for wealth creation, he opened up Akwa Ibom state, turned it from a transit state to a destination state. Go to Akwa Ibom today and see the level of investments. I don't live in Kano and don't intend to do so in the nearest future, but what I am advocating is for Nigerians to live anywhere without the feeling of marginalization, without being marginalized. I have no concrete proof to refer to Kwankwaso as a "religious fanatic", I withdraw that statement. Note: Kwankwaso and Lamido are my best governors in the north, but everyone has his negative part and it must be stated clearly when the need arise. |

The only reason you think Kwankwaso is the best thing after sliced bread is because he's an APC governor no more no less. Why don't you APCankerworms like it when your politicians are criticized ? You guys get all blood curdling and growling defending ineptitude from your party leaders yet attack PDP politicians who commit the same crimes... BARCANISTA change your evil ways tufiakwa |

barcanista:Just so you know even though you are from the South South, having lived in Lagos all your life and make you living here as well as pay taxes to the Lagos state government, the government is just as responsible to you as it is to the so called "Lagos people " If you have seen my posts you would recall I said time and time again me saying that I was born in Kano and raised in Kano . I was raised in the Gaiydi-Gaiydi(pronounced Jedi) area until it became clear to my Family during and after the RINEHARD BONKE SECTARIAN VIOLENCE ,in October 1990 that we were living on borrowed time. We moved to No-mans land, close to Sabon-Gari an enclave of safety for non indigenes (mind you we are not igbos). In all the years I have spent in kano since that time and all the times I go back to Kano from time to time ,Sabon-Gari is the least if at all affected areas of government presence and development over the years.Every thing that happens there happens as a result of the work of the people who live there :sanitation, water every other thing and this is inspire of the tax revenues from the area and surroundings. You do not have to believe this but a drive through Sabon-Gari if your car can manage it will tell its own story. Barcanista,I know you first instinct nowadays is to adjudge every word that comes from anyone nor pro APC rubbish but I will tell you if you are willing to listen why any southerner that has spent time in the North sort of despises the APC. It is because we see in APC the mindset in Northern Politicians that they still own this country to do as they please I admit these are the same politicians in the PDP onetime or another bit the point is that the PDP has proven (for all it's flaws) a more inclusive party.A friend of mine who is an aspiring politician member of the APC was at an APC event in Abuja and he tells me he got bad vibes from the many Northerners there:the kind you can only get when you are in a lungwu(area) within the inner streets of Kano citi your instincts telling you you could be attacked at any moment because you are an arrne(outsider). Oh by the way they are citizens of Nigeria resident in kano state and as such they have as much rights as the Man from Ungwauku who has never left his fathers house .It was that principle that the civil war was fought or at least that's what those who fought to keep Nigeria one say.And that's why the revenue is shared across board in Nigeria. |

| Re: Kwankwaso And The ‘Two Kano’s’ by Nobody: 1:08pm On Oct 06, 2014 |
EMANY01:I still don't understand how you tried to rope in APC to the mindset you see in Northerners. You may not be Igbo but the truth is that the Government of the day successfully divided Nigerians along religious line. When Obasanjo was in power(Kwankwaso was a Governor then under PDP), nobody saw PDP as Igbo Party or ANPP/APP as Northern Party(These were the two National Parties). Even Alliance for Democracy(AD) that was a pro-Yoruba party was not seen as tribalists(Just as APGA is pro_Igbo). During PDP's campaign in 2003, Nobody said vote AD because it is Yoruba Party in SW despite that AD was formed by Afenifere Group. The nonsense started first when GMB stepped into the Presidential race in 2003(with the vote only muslim propaganda) but it wasn't much. However, since Jonathan took over power, everything has become tribal and religious. His campaign was based on tribal/religious sentiment, his Aide labeled GMB and his party sectarian that is promoting sectarian interest. The President went ahead to say a particular tribe is is government pillar. I don't discuss tribal politics and I like discussing objectively which the writer of the article didn't. Sabon Gari is owned by Kano People and not Southerners. |

EMANY01:I did not say you lied or otherwise. I asked what authority as an indigen do you have to say a particular area owned by the local Kano people is marginalised when the locals didn't say so? As a non indigen, your duty is to live peacefully, do your business/work and petition government in any areas you feel shortchanged but having in mind that you need to tailor your message in a civilised manner. If you still find the place uncomfortable, you relocate back to your state or a place that is conducive for you. Nigeria belongs to all of us but Kano State belongs to Kano people as Rivers State belongs to Rivers people. |
