yes, it's quite cold over there at this period in O.A.U. And yes, the trees make it that way.

While receiving morning lectures at amphi you would feel the cold breeze more. And those that would love night class for reading or group reading need sweater. I have been running away from group reading since last week cause the cold made me have catarrh which later birthed malaria. It's even cold at the hostels too.
.okay oooo.guy yi sha aro sha

endeavour to read between the lines bro. You should have learnt some things about the proximity of high rainfall(which births cold) where there are a handful number of trees (forest). Amphi and trees weren't mentioned in the same paragraph bro. Resharpen your aroism.lol

Hi everyone, I've been doing a little bit of thinking for the past few days and I thought about an idea.

The idea is meant to encourage us while we wait and also give this dying thread a little bit of rejuvenation.
It's very simple, we would nominate people to tell why they want to study a certain course in OAU and what has been their motivation so far .

They would do their best to paint their dreams and aspirations using colouful words and expressions.I know it's not everyone here that would like to share something that private but looking on the bright side, you would encourage and influence people, you would also learn from others.

I know this idea may seem rather corny or jejune, or even childish but that's the point, only children can enjoy the colour in life.

What do you guys think? Lemme know your thoughts, then we'd nominate someone.

Re: OAU 2014/2015 FRESHERS (newly Admitted Students) Meet Here by Timmytimmy: 5:32pm On Oct 08, 2014
For as long as I can remember, I've always been intrigued by the idea of being a source of inspiration and encouragement to others.

Growing up in an environment where the people living around were so diverse in culture and social outlook, I was intrigued by human behaviour. I was enthralled by the vastness of the world I had read about.I used to sit then and think about all the things I could do with my life.

First, the world of machines was my first fascination. I can't be cliché and say that I used to open all the machines around me (my mother would whip me for that) but never the less I loved machines and electricity.

With age came a more intense appetite to experiment, I began to flirt with the idea of being a doctor.I had been admitted that year and the doctor had been a beautiful, young and vibrant woman.I was quick to see the unspoken admiration held in the gazes of nurses, cleaners and patients as the woman went around spreading a hope of new life through the wards. I had made up my mind. All this had been in SS2.

When I got to SS3, I wanted to be everything. I read about Benjamin Franklin and I knew being a doctor was not going to be enough. I began to have a painfully sweet adoration for interpreters of the law.The general consensus back then was that Art students were dull and lazy; I was a good student, some might have even called me the best(I'm grateful to predegree in this area, it helped me cut my excesses and made me realise that even though I'm no slowpoke, I'm definitely no Einstein) hence I wasn't about to show weakness by going for an art or social science course.

Here I stand today, I've grown wiser and I've seen the hard facts. This part of the world doesn't support dreams! I finally found solace in the art of wielding the pen . Being an avid reader of novels, I've always been intrigued by the way words are used to draw people into a different world; worlds where there a fated heroes and heroines, where love triumphs, where truth cannot be denied power and where there are happily ever afters. The power of a book is really limitless . The works of men like Dan Brown(I don't support his beliefs, I only admire his talent), Sidney Sheldon and John Grisham have held me spell bound and made me realise the great potency of words; the pen is mightier than the sword.

I finally settled for Chemical Engineering knowing that I had to study something for my first degree.I love Chemistry, so I thought the course is relevant in our labour market and the name sounds fine cheesy.

My motivation through all these has been based on a foundation that man has the capacity for unconditional love and that a human life is really limitless in its ability to influence the world. The biblesays "man is like vapour, disappearing in the wind", hence my motto; make an impact before you disappear! My ambition used to be"i want to be like Mother Theresa or like Einstein" but the fact is that not all of us might need to be that popular before our purpose materialises, popularity might even harm purpose. At the end of the day life is like a movie, God is the producer, Jesus is the director (for me) and I'm just an actor trying to interprete his role.
I'm not scared that there is no script, I'm not scared that the Producer made a flawed story, the only thing I'm scared of is the actor's ability to interprete his role and become the hero of the movie. cheesy

Alright!!!! I've dropped it.......Since y'all forced me to start, I'm asking for the permission to nominate two people.
Up next is uumm, following him should be Chiamaka01. As y'all can see, I didn't spare much details and I'd be really sad and disappointed if things don't go as planned because of someone's unwillingness to share.

While we wait, let's do small small aproko.......

Uumm should tell when he'd be ready, I'm out!!
