2015 Gov Race: Group Drums Support For Obanikoro by Johnnyessence(op): 11:03pm On Oct 09, 2014
247nigerianewsupdate.co/2015-gov-race-group-drums-support-for-obanikoro/ LAGOS —The League of Concerned
Lagosians, LCL, a political pressure group
in Lagos State has endorsed the Minister
of State for Defence, Senator Musiliu
Obanikolo to be the next governor of
Lagos State in 2015 on the platform of the
Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
In campaign posters being circulated
throughout the State tagged “Obanikolo
save Lagos now” the LCL opined that
Senator Obanikoro was the only person
that can save Lagos from the iron-fisted
clutches of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu,
National Leader of the APC, and former
governor of the State.
According to the group, on coming to
power in May, 2015, Senator Obanikoro
will carry out a “deep, thorough, all
encompassing and forensic” probe of the
APC-led governments of both Asiwaju
Bola Tinubu and Babatunde Raji Fashola.
LCL said Lagos State has been deprived
of genuine development because of the
profligacy that has been witnessed under
the rule of the APC in the state, stating
that vast amount of scarce Lagos State
resources have been diverted by the
former governor of Lagos State to fund
his pet project of imposing his political
will on the whole of South-West Nigeria.

Southwest was attaining the peak of democracy with commiserate dividends for that but the tendency of PDP thugs coming back to power is jeopardising the stride. PDP has never fielded people with clean and decent antecedents lately. Ayodele Fayose and now Obanikoro.
Yorubas I'm sure have eyes to see.

Obanikoro should stop wasting his own time. He is nothing but a political jobber with nothing to offer anyone. Romantic for PDP fans to talk up their candidates but APC will hold Lagos easily because Lagosians are the most pragmatic electorate in Nigeria. Majority have keyed into Fashola's work and vision they now desperately want to continue.

Lagos voters are not myopic or thinking only of what will fill their stomach today. They started a project with ACN, and now APC, they have every intention of patiently seeing through to the end for the growth and success of their State. PDP e-warriors are wasting their own time because real Lagosian know what obtained before Fashola and what the positive and vastly different reality is today. As it was "in Fashola we trust" it is now "in Fashola's successor we trust".

You are minding AljDesperado. His hatred of Tinubu and Fashola blinds him from facing reality everyone else, to include intelligent and pragmatic PDP fans, accept. Was 2011 not only 3 years ago? How, as an example, did Dosunmu fare against Fashola in 2011 talk less of Koro? Doofuses like Aljbokoharem said the same thing back in 2011 i.e Lagosians were tired of Fashola and would vote in Dosunmu. The reality at the polls disgraced those fools as will happen again in 2015.

Or do I need to remind some dreamers, after they made noise in 2011 about Dosunmu, the real results indicative of the easy victory and strength of the ACN (Now APC)? I.e ACN : 1,509113. PDP : 300,450. Today we have the stronger and bigger APC and some clowns, like Aljbokoharem, are still deluding themselves.

We dey laff.

Even if anybody planned to vote for a PDP candidate in the SW, current events in Ekiti would convince them otherwise. Koro koo, Kokoro ni.

No try am o! Dosunmu is DOA.

Jimi Agbaje, the only candidate to give the sentiment-driven APC a run for their money.

Obanikoro has lost traction in Lagos politics and besides is yet to be forgiven for dashing the hopes of thousands of Lagosians by getting himself out-manoeuvred by the APC rigging machine in 2007. He should make do with maybe a senior ministerial position going forward.

Let us see how Akinwunmi Ambode would beat Jimi Agbaje in a free and fair election. Especially now that Tinubu's grip on Lagos is gradually slackening...

Very easily is how. Although I must remind one-way traffic Nairalanders that Ambode has not emerged the APC candidate yet. In case some fake Lagosians have not realised it, Lagos State is not a "vote individual and not Party" State. Voters tend to look at everything in a pragmatic and inter-related manner.

It is the heights of naivete and ignorance to think Agbaje's name alone will make PDP palatable enough to claim victory. Lagos politics is more complex than that and I cannot blame desperate yet ultimately ignorant elements for not realising this. They desperately want the APC out and will ignore reality to install anyone as their 'local champion'. Agbaje is now the 'messiah' same as was touted with Dosunmu in 2011? Let us wait and see then.

You may have to go beyond jejune postulations to tell us why you think that a massively popular candidate like Jimi Agbaje would not muster sundry clout to appeal to voters in Lagos.

You may also need to demonstrably show that Lagosians are so enamoured with APC and her led government in the state such that whoever they present would have a field day over party candidates. Meanwhile, may I put it to you that the facts on ground are antithetical to your prognostications.

Talking of the dynamics of the Lagos political terrain, one would have expected you to have factored in the peculiar make-up of Lagos electorates.

Whatever I forecasts I make, the caveat of a free and fair election must be definitive/critical. Rigging operates by default in Lagos. Cue: the gubernatorial election in 2007.

BTW Dosunmu has never been popular in Lagos. His emergency in 2011 was a consequence of Obasanjo's meddlesomeness. He never was a serious alternative.

Oga anyone that wins the PDP primaries will get my vote and those around me.

Just anybody!

So be it Ade be it Jimi. I am game. I just want an end to this elitist government call APC

Are people not just tired of these usual "CAREER POLITICIANS"?

When will some people just realize that they are as bland and crude as they've always been na?

Koro how? where technocratic professionals like AMBODE and HAMZAT are names also in the race?

Attempting to choose a Koro where one has the choice of an Ambode is like wanting to choose to eat garri without sugar over fried rice, salad and sauteed chicken; - that's some level of insanity
