ORLU, the last pix is the school of health Oporo constructed by Rochas govt. The pix are dim because they were taken in the night.

Who are the people? Pay little or no attention to internet and live blackmails sponsored by some section of Igbo old men who are bent on keeping us as slaves. For any information on Imo State pay a personal visit.

Let govt open the Imo-European University Ogboko, near Orlu. It must add to the population of people in Orlu. Owerri thrives because it is overpopulated with students - about 120,000 - as well as tens of thousands of civil servants.

And berem from Orlu who now lives in Lagos is going to increase the population of Owerri beginning next year. Lol!
Re: Few Pics From Imo State by millionaireman: 8:55am On Oct 13, 2014
To dig gutter or duct for Orlu central drainage system, let govt deploy a few policemen to ward off any intruders. In less than one month, the digging can be completed by two tractors. Udenwa had to use police to move traders from the old market to the new imternational market. If this Orlu central drainage system started by former governor Ikwechegh is not completed, most of these roads in Orlu being exhibited here shall wear away shortly. Water is greatest enemy to asphalt.

The problem of central drainage is universal and not peculiar to Orlu like you are trying to claim here. Owerri also has its own drainage challenges but the good news is that Imo State happens to be one of the Southern States with low flood disaster.

Meanwhile more Orlu pictures. @asha80 you can tell pictures taken on Sundays from closed banks and public offices.

@millionaireman is this the St Augustine? I noticed the structure is about 6ft below road level and I have a feeling that successive reconstruction raised the height of the road. The structures inside looks colonial.

Owerri/Orlu road at Nwaorieubi in Mbaitoli LGA and the almost completed Mbaitoli general hospital. One can see what looks like the old colonial hospital in one of the pics.

To be frank, too many in Orlu are complaining. Okorocha has road development as his development programme in Orlu. But lots of the Orlu urban roads started by Okorocha govt about two and half years ago are not completed, and they create difficulties in getting from point A to B. The roads built by previous govts also rot away - no repairs. In Owerri, those old roads get repaired.

As for the absence of drainage system in Orlu, no more politics. Issue is that flood water from Stadium area, International market and IMSUTH areas collect at the area of St. Joseph Church/School. It is worse now. Only solution is to dig a duct or gutter less than 800m to channel the floods to a nearby valley. Playing politics with excuse of universal flooding is not it.

guy I've now confirmed it that you are a devil. You can lie without conscience, which people in Orlu are complaining, and where and where are they experiencing flooding? Enugu road, asika ilobi road, amaigbo/ihioma road, owu avenue, new and old owerri road, Judis avenue are completed so what are you trying to say?

I left Orlu just yesterday night, while in Orlu i interrogated many people and said that anybody who speaks bad about Rochas(Nwanna) developmental stride is a Devil and can never see good thing in life, so base on this premise i can conclude that you are a Devil and can never accept good thing in life.

There is no living soul that was last in Imo State 2012 that will visit and deny the unbelievable improvement. While Orlu is moving to be like other State capitals Owerri is departing from the looks of typical Nigerian city.

The Orlu/Owerri federal highway is nearing complete dualization at a record low cost. When this is completed, the symbiotic effects will be to the advantage of Orlu town, Umuaka, Orodo, Nwaorieubi, Nkume, Amucha, Ubomiri etc as they will all be a continuum of Owerri-Orlu urban cluster.

Abagworo just relax let me prove that man that he's a liar. I went to Osina, Ideato north and Okporo Orlu yesterday and i saw many developmental strides in orlu axis, many new govt structures like the new general hospitals, the new still acquisition center, the new school of health, the level of work on the new stadium, the new Orlu building material market and many unknown structures, but millionnaija has been misinforming people now that Rochas only built roads in Orlu without things that can attract population boom.

Judging from my movement around Orlu and immediate environs, 2 roads are unfinished.

1 is old Owerri road but it looks like there is serious work and it will be completed year end or early next year. The 2nd road though short could have helped ease movement within Orlu central but looks completely abandoned and overgrown with grass. There is what looks like ITC park, a lively joint and children's park on that road. I dont know the name but here is the picture. Okorocha needs to complete this road.

I know CAMPHARM pharmaceutical industries. The owner of the industry is a very close family friend to my parents. The man behind the industry is from Ihioma while his wife is from Okporo,my hometown. The industry have been in existence since in late 80's.
Ihioma is the home base for Pharmaceuticals in Imo State and the southeast at large.

Oga stop lying that drainage system has been completed, you are from Orlu, agreed, but just accept that you are not close to Orlu and don't know the state of that city right now. Before now I've been calling Orlu small town but yesterday i confirmed that Orlu is a city and the population has tremendously increased. Initially Orlu town was only Orlu(ie umuokpara where they have the Orlu cathedral), Umuna and Amaifeke but now it has expanded to Okporo, Owerriebeiri, ihioma, Okwuabali, and connected to Nkwere, a suburb of Orlu. Yesterday i drove round Orlu with friends and it rained that yesterday but i couldn't see any flooding around that st. Joseph.

Below is the:
-Orlu city drainage system which has long been completed and it looks very old and can contain a large volume of water.
-The size of gutter being built in Orlu by the present administration , and this is how they did it for all the roads they constructed in Orlu which can hold large volume of water. You can see how dry it looks though it rained yesterday.
-Road around st. Joseph which you've complained many times that normally flooded whenever it rains.
-the new university axis which you know that apart from the university, Imo govt is also building many structures around that area.

Abagworo, there are many other important and connecting roads inside Orlu urban started by Okorocha govt but have remained uncompleted.

But no one must subtract the pass mark from Okorocha that he has outperformed all his successors as far as building roads in Imo state is concerned.

Whenever it rains in Orlu, and because of absence of central drainage system flood collects for days around that St Joseph Church area, (you mistakenly called it St Augustine) people get agitated.

B2mario, pls carry your wahala go. I cannot condescend to your bestial level.

Re: Few Pics From Imo State by millionaireman: 8:19pm On Oct 13, 2014
berem, I cannot sell my town for a plate of porridge.
This pit below was dug near St Joseph Catholic Church at the centre of Orlu by Okorocha govt to collect flood. The pit remains, but flood problems have worsened since the pit was dug.
Let me break it down to some people in A,B,C form: what is required is a duct or gutter to channel those floods to a nearby Ogidi valley less than 1 km from where the floods collect - not this pit.

Abagworo, I think understands what I mean here.

Late Gov. Ikwechegh started the drainage system. And without the drainage system completed, a short time from now, more of the roads in Orlu on display here now shall be washed away.
