I came across this ride today, parked close to my office and got interested, its got its engine between its boot and rear seat...owner knows its an MG rover but nothing else. Can anybody help break down the rides power plant? I love its sleek shape though, but as Rover is now defunct would it still be a good buy? Not that am buying anyways.

That is an MG F (probably 1995 model) with 1.8L engine. |

We didn't get that in the US maybe Siena will have more details. If you want a mid engined car then get a Toyota MR2 (91 to 95), uses the Camry powerplant. |

It is definitely the MG F (first generation).There are two engines available, the 1.8i K-series 1796cc 16v and the 1.8i VVC (Variable Valve Control). The power figures are 120HP and 145HP respectively which give a 0-60 time of 8.5 (1.8i) and 7.0 (VVC) seconds. |

abatically:bro, thanks For the effort. But how did you research this? Btw, I thought it would have faster take-off times, this is very poor for a car with such looks. No turbo?, not a V6?, but with a decorative double exhaust. Not good at all. |

Homguy:Bros, even the trophy trim with1.8iVVC and 157 HP has 0-60 of 6.9 sec. Not the fastest car around but definitely has the sporty feel. 1 Like |
