Because this will be the second V.C of Bini extraction since the inception of the university.

I'm so happy. Edo people will keep on holding that seat. Uniben was too liberal in the past by letting any efulefu like Nwanze be vc. We took a stand with Oshodin and he has done so well. Given so many of our people employment there. I hope this one continues the good work.

He has recovered. However, his tenure ends in november. This new one will take over then.

They should govern IMSU and provide more graduates that can't spell their names and use igbo to teach during nysc.

UNIBEST or UNIBEN?

The binis have proved themselves capable of leadership. Oshodin did excellently well during his tenure, those witches and wizards refused to let him be, I hope they can leave him now that he is no longer on sit. The man is a nice man. This new VC should not spoil what Oshodin has put in place rather let him even do better. Finally UNIBEN is free from those aliens who don't have the best interest of the school at heart.

The new Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin (UNIBEN) is Prof. OSASERE ORUMWENSE. Prof ORUMWENSE who hails from the Bini speaking tribe of Edo State was a lecturer in the Mechanical Engineering department of the school and was also the admission officer of the school in 2001. He was later appointed the Rector of Institute of Technology and Management (IMT), Usen,Edo State. He was also the dean , Faculty of Engineering, UNIBEN.

He takes over from Prof. Oshodi who served excellently well and is also a Benin man.

Sadly, he cannot do that because our universities receive limited funding from the Government.

If you are an engineering student....your best option now is to get a good corporate sponsor/rich alumni to raise funds for a new Engineer's Hostel.

Or, alternatively, go private.
