This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Nigeria’s first UN Youth Ambassador for Peace and popular singer, D’Banj shares his view of the role young people can play in transforming their societies. He shared his work using his music to raise awareness on agriculture in Africa and the role of youth. If Africa’s youths are the future of Africa, then Africa is the future of the world. He also sang his top single, Top of the World.

TEDxWBG is a TED-licensed event that was held in Washington DC, USA with a thematic look at “Ending Poverty”. The event was organized and curated by Maya Brahmam, Senior Communicatiosn Officer, World Bank Group.

It brought together a diverse group of global thinkers and doers to share their perspectives and ideas on ‘development change’ and D’banj was one of the speakers selected.

D’banj spoke alongside world influential leaders like Jim Yong Kim- President, World Bank Group; Eleni Gabre-Madhin, Co-Founder and CEO Eleni LLC; Susan Davis, President and CEO, Brac USA and more.

Brilliant indeed.
He actually is in the league of those who can advice on "Believing in onesself".

I have seen Dbanj few times and on those few occassions I have noticed that his self confidence is over the shelf.
The guy carries confidence around and his atmosphere wherever he is shows it.

He also mentioned it that he doesnt just want to be a local champion and here he is today.
Even if this moment doesnt last forever, he has done well by dearing to be different.

Saw it some days ago. Not bad.

It was a basic speech, but i like the fact that he did not put too much pressure on himself.

This guy has stepped up the game. Most of his contemporaries are vying for political positions looking at looting their own national cake in the nearest future.
