The National Youth Service Corp tasked all graduates from Nigeria to do a compulsory one year national service. The main aim of this exercise is to foster unity among huge diversity. As a result of this, prospective corp members are posted to states other than their own. Here comes a question - which state is the best for NYSC? This is a very difficult question to answer in one Nairaland post. But I'll try to give a vivid highlights objectively.

In ranking the best states for NYSC, there are several things to consider. These are: security, allowance and payment, accessibility, accommodation, respect, availability of opportunity and so on.

After careful review, here are to top 10 best states for NYSC in Nigeria.

I am not from Anambra State, although I move around the major NYSC Camps in Nigeria due to the nature of my business.

From my experience and interaction from corp members who served at Anambra State, they have a stable platform for NYSC. You can't study law and are posted to secondary school. Posting is purely based on course of study.

Also, there are many opportunities at Anambra State. It's a business state and corp members may be inspired to start their own business.

Accommodation there is cheap and the state is fairly secure as there are no crises here and there.

Allowance is better compared to other states in the Eastern Nigeria.

Anambra is peaceful. The ranking is however based on my judgement.

Abuja high cost of accomodation is a curse.

I rubbish dat ranking...how did plateau state make it to dat list when delta is not there..n talking about Anambra state security n bla bla bla,dat state that has been knw to be the den of ritual killers n kidnappers.

A list without Ogun state is baseless.

Being secure doesnt just mean not having crisis or conflicts that make the headlines. Anambra state has lots of security challenges esp in onitsha & environs with daily pick pocketing, harrassement & robberies.

Anambra is one of the most secure states in Nigeria in the real sense of the world

The ranking above is based on my personal research and interaction with retired and serving corp members.

You might have your reasons to dispute it. But it can help anyone to make an informed decision on state od deployment if they have any opportunity to influence their posting.
