Elder statesman my foot! He was simply used and dumped by Hausa/Fulani.

Saint! He is to Nigeria what Abraham Lincoln is to the United States. Both of them led their respective countries during their civil wars, fighting to bring back secessionist groups back. In Nigeria, Gowon fought and brought Biafra back to Nigeria. In the United States, Lincoln fought and brought back the Confederate States to the United States.
